Normally takes 2 to 3 years to fully get over the kind of injury he sustained. This will be the third year. Praying for the best.

Hayward exemplifies the perfect player. He is one of the most unselfish stars in the league. If you want him to shoot, he can shoot. He can also keep the ball flowing. It's like watching waves crashing seeing this guy move the ball.

Does anybody think Miles could be on the move? Cuz right now, he’d be headed to the bench...that hurts his value and would almost guarantee we ultimately let him walk/lose him for nothing

I think there is a chance it could be Batum to Knicks for an asset.

Could be a sign and trade with Rozier or Zeller going back.

Or we could be stretching Batum, which doesn't make sense.

Hayward has played the 2 a lot of his career. We have a huge influx of guards now. Going to be a busy day

Just when it started to look like this organization might be turning the corner and setting itself up for the future, this happens! SMH

I am Happy for Hayward.

Let's remember IMO Crowder intentionally hurt him (Did not mean to break leg, but act was intentional)

Haywards busts his behind to come back and is now #4 option. Name me 1 other all-star that would let that happen. He did not raise a stink publicly, took his work pale and went to work.

Celtics mistreated him.

Today, Hayward called Dannys bluff on Pacers. Good for him. Danny thinks he is a master negotiator, he is a d&ck.

I don't blame Hayward, FA is a musical chairs game, he got almost the same money as last contract. He and his agent did well.

2 Max contracts and now a darn good one.

If there was ever a time to take a chance on a guy that could be an injury away from irrelevant, it is now. At worst, Hayward gets an injury and is never the same. We don't have to worry about ruining our rebuild fighting for an 8th seed. This is the feast or famine type play.

I think it’s a good move. He’ll space the floor is unselfish, good locker room guy, won’t dominate the ball and will be primary threat until Graham, PJ, Melo are matured. 30 is not old anymore, guts are taking of their bodies much better now. Plus guys that don’t have games based off athleticism can age gracefully. CP3, Bron, Harden, Dame, Kamba, Dragic, Butler, all aging just fine. He’s traceable if things go poorly because he can play 2-4 and shoot.

Look at it like this. When he comes off the books, we will be looking to give Lamelo a max. If Hayward gets injured and doesn't play to his contract, we'll be picking high lotto for next 3 years. There is seriously no downside to this from a rebuilding perspective.

Not happy with this.

It's like we can't help but give massive contracts to injury prone players who are getting old (looking at Nic).

We are still fully stuck on the rebuild vs contend treadmill, right before a great draft too.

We can do that without giving out 120 million dollar deals.

The downside from a rebuild perspective is actually that Hayward doesn't get hurt and manages to be good enough to put us at the 9th pick, again. Which I can see happening.

Should sign 3 or so players that have short contracts we could flip for picks, we aren't flipping Hayward.
