I like this trade and glad to be back up in the top half of the 2nd round. Hopefully Mitch can work some magic tonight.

Funny - in every acquire-a-center scenario, not once did I think 'give the Pistons our #57 for Plumlee and move up 20 spots in the draft'

Overall I like it, love that his contract isn’t fully guaranteed next year too. Could be a nice contract to use at trade deadline depending on how well he plays and who else we draft.

Safe to say we will not be throwing huge money at one of the free agent centers (not a bad thing at all) and perhaps the plan is in fact to resign both Devonte and Monk after all now

You know ... maybe after this trade the Hornets will choose to operate as an over the cap team, making all their QOs, and then getting the mid-level exception to sign someone.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

This was a phenomenal trade and exactly what I argued in the Myles/Favors trade proposals.

If you absorb guys into salary, YOU should be compensated for it. Very well done Mitch.

8 mil for 2 years is peanuts for a guy who is probably better than any Center we ran last year and will probably be better than any center this year. Moving up 20 spots to boot... well done. They'll have some talent to choose from at that spot.

This makes a potential Kai selection very intriguing, as it'd give him a steady vet to work with and behind should he need a couple of years to develop

Nice, he's a good backup and we move past our original 2nd round slot, covering another Cho bad trade

I like this move. Getting another good 2nd round pick, which will probably replace one of the Martins, and Plumlee will probably replace Cody in the lineup. I bet we take a wing now.

Plumlee was one of my trade targets last season too.

I really thought he got a bigger deal from Detroit... when I saw the $16M contract I thought it was each year, this is a really nice move. Really underscores how cheap 2nd round picks are, but Mitch really likes that range.

I was making Plumlee trades a few months ago.

Biz + McDaniels + 2nd for Plumlee.

Plumlee is probably better than Cody is, but he is 31 so I doubt his trade value is very high. Especially considering his contract is 3 years long.

Granted, the trade I proposed isn't anything like the one we made. But I'll take credit for giving Mitch the idea 8-)

This is the first creative Mitch trade. Well done Mitch!

Mitch Kupchak has really been great for this franchise thus far. He is thoroughly prepared and Completely competent. That is a big step forward.
Lol
This trade is fantastic for us. We got an Average to good vet Center for cheap. This takes the heat off of us overpaying one later AND moved up to the part of the second round where there should be quality prospects.
Love the deal!

I love it, with the amount of times we gave the ball up to Biz at the top of the key last season, I really wanted a passing big. I thought of plumlee because of how well he shared the ball in Portland

Plumlee would have probably landed us in the 4th or 5th seed this past season. Lol

Plumlee is an upgrade at center over Zeller and Biyombo, but I have to ask, after all we have seen the past two seasons: Is this the best you can do?
