The "Brown Frown" Hall of Fame

Post#22 » by BigSlam » Sat Mar 19, 2022 12:19 am

2012 season (7-59).

Being the first team to lose to the 0-18 Nets in 2009.

Taking 8 years to beat the Mavs.

Heat lost to the Spurs by 24. World fell off its orbit. Oh, wait. That only happens when Hornets lose. Some perspective.

Also, the Jeff McInnis/Raymond Felton backcourt that Sam Vincent was obsessed with

Rich Cho thinking Cody Zeller was like LaMarcus Aldridge.

Al Jefferson's love of Popeyes fried chicken and thinking Reba McIntyre was hot. (not really a shameful thing, but funny)

The Timbertrolls vs LOLCats youtube video Lamar made.

So many players, so few who can join in a given year. But why is Glenn Rice on this list?

Feels like we ran a 2 pg lineup for bare minimum 5 straight years.

Oh yes….we figured that out pretty quickly. I would take my wife and very young son to the games. We got there very early but parked at the ass end back of the massive lot. At the end of the game (or before if a bad blow out) we would bolt to the door and either jog or very fast walk to the car. We got into the flow and out much sooner.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Take Glen Rice off the list. Nic Batum is first-ballot.

You just needed me to go to a game against the Mavs for us to beat them.

to me Nic Batum leads the line
signing that contract and then checking out dealt a serious kneecapping to this franchise
imagine being paid that kind of money and not expending maximum effort??!!
Diaw with the same maddening laissez faire attitude is right next to him
and now Monk a valuable lottery pick burned on a junior louse who couldn't be bothered to make an effort?
it's the not bothering to try and then going elsewhere and playing with effort that I can't abide from this unforgivable trio of toads

Rice's tenure with Charlotte ended ugly. He faked an injury and refused to play to force a trade out of Charlotte to Lakers. At least we got Eddie Jones and Campbell in return.

Many of my old school Charlotte Hornet friends loathed Glen Rice with the passion of a thousand suns after that move.

It's not the most egregious example but still worth considering

I appreciate most of the nominees, but I wonder if it shouldn't be the hall of shame?
