I'm curious how much, if at all, the Lakers interest in him affected things.

Did they up their original offer? Was he not interested at all in the LA spot? Was JJ our first option and he indicated that he preferred LA?

The most likely scenario is the new owners were reading this forum and decided they had to act before Fats sent them a strongly worded email.

This hire makes me hopeful for next season.

Also, I'm pleasantly surprised that the organization broke the news instead of Woj or Shams.

I honestly think Lee was the target the whole time. His relationship with Peterson and the owners were a big deal. I think the delay was really about getting everything lined up. We were embarrassed last time and I think we were determined not to let that happen this time.

Great interview fats.

Most interesting question was what he thought our weaknesses are. Lee mentioned mental and physical competitivness and toughness. And the need to develop an identity on both ends of the court. I think he's on the right track with these answers.

Wasn't my first choice. Wasn't my last choice. Seems reasonable.

Also probably from Atlanta.

Need to hurry up and get to the point where they can start bringing in new medical and training staffs.

I hear the Atlanta Hospital system has some quality doctors.

Physical/Mental competitiveness...

Damn we trading Melo this off-season.

Clifford has said similar things. The problems are all pretty obvious. Hopefully Lee can actually get a response from the players.

I wanna say I'm happy with this hire but I don't know what happy feels like as a Hornets fan. It's kinda like a warm feeling in my belly, a long easy exhale. Is this happy? It's gonna take some getting used to.

Probably not likely, but I still want Jay Triano back.
