Yeah, that's where my head went to. If we keep Miles, could run him at 4 and plug in Green on the wing with Melo and Brandon.
Green is 6'4.5" without shoes so guess he clears that mythical "big guard" line. Also has a 6'10" wingspan.

Re: Josh Green to Charlotte
Seems like the perfect connector/defender/shooter between Melo and Miller too. Low maintenance high energy guy. I really love the move the more I think about it. His screen navigation seemed bad in the Finals but he could really match the athleticism of the Celtics and when he Ds up he really goes for it.
Good passer too and would thrive in a fast paced scheme like ours. This is the type of move that earns you an A+, if it’s only a couple seconds.

If he's really good we can also deal him at the deadline for whichever contender is 3nD needy

Is he some lockdown defender that I have been blind too?
I dont like it.
Oh no sub 40% from 3, is that really our bar on if a guy is a good shooter now?

Seriously. Green shot 38.5% from 3 last year. Better than Bertrans, Miller, Williams, and Mann.

I guess those 3 seconds from Reggie are paying off already! Green is a really nice pick up. We have acquired a dude with championship series starter experience on a decent cost controlled deal. He is entering his prime and plays D. Hmm. If we can get a back C and resign Miles our line up is not too bad.

Not exactly... 40% from 3 is great overall but, I guess my hesitation with that is that most of his 3's were of the catch and shoot variety based on kickouts from Luka and Kyrie...
I would expect he would get some similar looks here aswell so the 3% was probably unfair criticism on my part. Still dont like the sub 70% from the FT line and the 3 year $50M contract... (Understanding of course that all the contracts are insane now).

I would have been pretty happy with getting Gary Trent on a 3/50, Green is 2 yrs younger, so can't complain.
It was clear our FO was a fan at the deadline and circling back here to get him at a cheaper cost makes a ton of sense.

His contract is 3 years and around $41M total.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

He did shoot 40% the year before averaging 25 minutes per game then so he can shoot respectably. Mostly a hustler type. We need those and he still has young legs. I don't mind Mann, Martin and him splitting the 2 guard minutes or whatever. Plus, he has been around winners. Hopefully him and Grant have a bond.

3 yr/41, not 3 yr/50.

Re: Josh Green to Charlotte
Well, we can't keep all these guards. LaMelo, Green, Martin, Micic, Mann, and NSJ all want playing time next year and we are trying to bring back Curry. My guess is they ship out Mann for something

I hope so. He brings Finals experience he knows how to play without the ball.
I personally love this trade because there was nobody in FA who would have been a realistic better option.

Martin is on his last year and has not really played in 2 years.

Surely they’d move Micic before Mann?

Re: Josh Green to Charlotte
I hope we don't move mann. A sg rotation of green and Mann or Mann and green is decent enough to keep around for 2 years both are only 23. Everyone else should be on the block not Mann.

Honestly I'd be looking to move Martin before Micic or Mann at this point

2 second round picks is quite the bargain for an NBA starter if he indeed wins that spot.
It's an impressive, "strategic" use of cap space.
It has been written...
