Re: Official NBA 2K13 Thread
My jump shot gone completely so far this season. There are times when I could be the only one on my end of the court and I can't sink a 15-foot jumper, let alone a three. This is seriously messed up, as I've got my three-point rating close to 85, and my mid-range is close to 90. I'm only scoring on driving layups and dunks and the occasional post move. Can't seem to get to the line at all either. This only started about 15-20 games ago and wasn't the case for much of my rookie season, and I can't seem to figure out what's wrong. I changed my jump shot to a Gerald Wallace base and a Ray Allen release (by far my favorite combo so far). It helps somewhat in a practice, but I'm still nearly useless from three in-game.

Just managed to score 21 pts in 20 minutes. The rebounding on this game still annoys me, I got out rebounded by Ben Gordon FFS.
figured out the rebounding problem. Diop has a really low rating for defensive rebounds, low 70's, but he has 99 for offensive rebounds. No wonder I was getting more O rebounds than defensive. I have cranked his defensive rebounds up now, so I can reach double digit rebounding.
Dunlap has been impressed with my play so Diop is getting a bit more time, even playing Pf with Haywood at centreIt was tough at first as no one would pass me the ball on offense (understandable)
I wish I could capture some of the footage of the post moves I've been pulling off with the big fella, they even have me closing the game now and have even gone to me for the clutch baskets at the end of the game. Weirdly they go with Biyombo and me to close games.
wait, so you went with Gana for the legend mode?

I didn't quite catch you on that first post, but this is just hilarious.

I've been playing my roommates a lot in this game, and well, out of probably over 50 games, I have only lost 5 times. This game is so much fun to play.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 Thread
I just got taken out of the game by my coach for the first time and damn was I pissed off. I'm close to averaging a TD in the playoffs, had something like 5/7/7 in an early 2nd quarter and I guess I made three negative plays in a row (ones that give you the negative feedback) and Gentry took me out. I was like - what the eff?? It wasn't even anything major just bad transition D, allow offensive rebound and then I had an assist, yet for some reason it counted as a bad pass because the oppositions power forward gambled and almost stole the ball. In other news, we're 0-3 against the Lakers in the conference semis and the season is basically over.

i had the same thing happen to me in the 4th quarter of a game where i had 16, 9 and 8 and we were winning. i had two turnovers and a bad shot and mchale sent me to the bench. "im getting you out of here first chance i get" "what were you thinking out there?" i still got player of the game and a B+ rating. suck it mchale.

I'm so pissed off actually. Gortat came back the next game and it was just the worst timing, since the combination of him returning and the coach being angry at me reduced my minutes to 22 from like 35. I had spent so much time getting Beasley's minutes and now it's like I'm back at the start. We lose the 4th game and get swept, and I, the guy who carried the team with averages of about 22/10/8 for the post-season, is starting off his second season once again as a 20-minute guy. I'm just going for the money during the off-season so I can improve my skills before joining a contender, because this Suns team is going nowhere with this roster and drafting in the middle.

Diop got his first 20/10 last night in 26 minutes of action and was crucial in a win over Atlanta.
A couple of clutch baskets and some good defence on Josh Smith.
Still haven't been able to get him player of the game yet. I wanna get a screen shot when I do

Re: Official NBA 2K13 Thread
Second year in and the season has been great so far (Bobcats, PG). MKG is averaging 3 steals a game to go with 24 points and 11 rebounds in 38 minutes of play. Gerald Henderson somehow grabbed the starting SG spot from Gordon (not that Im going to complain given how great he is in the game) and is averaging 17 points a game. I am averaging 25 points a game to go with 8 rebounds and 16 assists (on 50.6% FG, 45% 3pt) not to mention my 4.5 steals and 1.4 blocks a game... Biyombo has also been playing well this year, securing the starting PF spot and averaging 12 ppg and 8.5 rpg (pretty impressive given everyone's ability to rebound). The GM is my bitch, I told him to give Mully more minutes and they have (9 more min), which really helps the offensive flow of the game.

i ran into the monta ellis buzzsaw in a game a few days ago. i was up 20 on the bucks late in the 3rd and ellis when absolutely bonkers. he ended up with 48. i was mainly guarding jennings who also had 27. i think they took 44 and 24 shots respectively. nobody else on the bucks had more than 5 shot attempts. they came back and won by 1 point.

Re: Official NBA 2K13 Thread
some more random thoughts now that I'm in the second season of my player mode:
Guarding those unknown rookies can be challenging and annoying. I had no idea that Orlando's rookie Rodriguez couldn't make a long-range shot if his life depended on it or that the Lakers rookie Izzo could dunk over me.
Your guards will make the most bone-headed decisions ever when being pressured in the back court. I always demand a pass to make it across the half-court line myself or just set screens for them, because they usually get their pockets picked at least twice or settle for a pass to Gortat who's under the other basket while there are two other options which would make a lot more sense. It also begs the question - why doesn't your own team press when under by 10 and more during the last quarter? This drives me nuts. At least, then the CPU would make some of the same mistakes. That brings me to my next point...
what they should improve for 2K14's my player mode is adjustments by your coach, so the game would feel more realistic. Because I'm tired of guys lighting my team up and us doing nothing about it strategically, or being guarded by some midget and the point guard seemingly doing everything not to be in a position to give me the ball in the post. Here's an idea - once you become an established player, during time-outs you have the option to suggest something to your coach (which he would accept, of course) like going to a zone defense, putting a double team on the opponent's best player, etc. Otherwise the way those my player games are played sometimes seem so dumb.
Couldn't there also be an option for you to come out of the game in you want so? I'm tired of being a part of the fourth quarters of blow-outs. Every single other starting five player for the both teams is resting, while I'm playing garbage time minutes against Luke Walton. The most boring part of the my player mode experience.
I'm going through the most awful shooting slump, for some reason. I'm 29% from downtown from the season, while it seemed like my three pointer was automatic during the first year. I swear 80% of my shots get positive feedback for "good shot selection" and usually there's a defender who barely closes out with his hand up, yet I can't make a shot. Next thing I'm buying is the accessory called "Deadeye" or something, reduces the affect of a defender closing out on your long-range shot.

I shut down Harden, allowing only 8 points
Affloa on the other hand man handled my ass on his way to shooting 14/15 for 28 points.... he used the unguardable skill of walking past me (no matter what I did).. No fancy handles, he simply would just walk around me...

Same happened to me. Picked up "Deadeye" and boosted my 3-point ability to 88. Still shooting around 30% from deep.

that's weird as my guard who has about 86 3pt ability hits a constant 40% at least, quite often better and I'm taking some rushed shots too.
I'm dominating with Diop now. Its weird all I've updated is his defensive rebounding and ball control, but I'm finding it a lot easier now. Bobcats are unstoppable as well and have one of the best records in the league.
Secrets Out, Diop is the answer

Thought this was funny: through the first four games of an association, I checked some stats and Boris Diaw has a TOTAL of 3 points, 24 rebounds, and 43 assists. Good lord.
