Apparently Masiri, the GM for Toronto, has a list with all of the African player's real ages. I was talking to one of their scouts about Biyombo age, but it was after a couple beers, so I can't remember what he said exactly, but I think he said it was 25.

Why would Masiri have this entire list of African players' ages and no one else? That just doesn't make sense to me
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere

Biyombo is clearly under 21. I've met him in person, he looks like a 16 year old on steroids. Still has the baby face and little hair on his body.

I guess the guy from the Raptors (he's a high, high up exec) must have been lying to me for no reason.

Dang it! I need to warn the world about this sociopath. Making up stories about the ages of African players just for kicks.

Fortunately we have your meeting Biyombo in person and looking closely at his teenage face to help set the story straight.

You are a patriot.

Jonas V is actually 28 years old and a diabetic. I was visiting Croatia and a high-level Wizards scout was in the bar drinking away, and spilled the beans. I think thats why they picked Vesely instead

i don't believe their is one gm in the league who has a magical list of ages for african players that nobody else has access to. cho did extensive scouting of biz before draft, probably more than any gm. cho is known for is data collecting. i'm sure cho knows his real age, whether it is 20 or 25.

How old did he say Diop was? 37? 47?

Hate to ruin this hilarious joke but Valanciunas was off the board when the Wizards picked that year.

Why do you think Ujiri made such a precipitous rise to become a $3M/yr GM? It wasn't because he didn't have amazing info and inside connections.

He runs basketball camps in Africa. He was a big shot in Nigeria until being hired as a scout in 2002. Why would you assume that he doesn't know more about African players, including their ages, than other executives?

Ujiri is overrated just like every new personnel move raptors originally make on RealGM. Just wait until he keeps yall in mediocre territory. U'll be calling for his head just like colangelo

To think that one GM owns an entire continent worth of basketball talent is incredibly ignorant. Ujiri might be a good gm, but there are plenty of general managers who are better than him. Age isn't just something that you can conceal from the entire league except one executive.

i will leave it at this... i dont know how old biyombo is and i am not sure anyone other than his family knows for certain his age. however, i dont think anyone in the NBA has a better educated guess to his age than rich cho and the bobcats. they have spent 3 years with him and know more about him than anyone. if he is 20, the cats have a good idea. if he is 22, the cats have a good idea. and if he is 25, the cats have a good idea.

A guy that worked for UNC once told me that he knew Sean May would be a bust in the NBA b/c a pro scout told him he had thin ankles. I'm not making this up.

you forgot the part where "you don't remember what age the scout said he was, but you think it was 28"

how can you doubt an ironclad account like that??

Lol. Not even sure how to respond to this.

I didn't say he was 28, I said I thought I heard that he was 25. And he definitely is older than his listed age of 20. The exec confirmed that.

Funny how you treat people who come here to try to give you useful info. Nice little smear campaign. I definitely won't be back here again next time I hear something.

I heard that Biyombo was 1,980,879,342,768,687 years old, the guy who told me confirmed it.
