Bender on Sunday?

It was a bender that lasted Saturday lunch time, Saturday afternoon, Saturday night and Sunday morning.

You know how much I dig Jefferson. He would give us that one thing we have never, ever had. He would make our games more enjoyable to watch. What was Ewing like at recognizing a double and then passing out of it? If we did land Al it would be good to work on that with him to get the cutting Kemba and MKG some easy looks.

Lock him in a room with McBobcat for the summer maybe.

Either way, and providing the terms aren't nuts, I would obviously love Big Al on the roster.

Would love Kanter more, but seeing as though he is not available, bring on Big Al.

If it were next year's fa I may feel a little differently but it's just hard to give a max deal to a guy who gives up as many points as he scores.

http://hoopshype.com/free_agency.htm

Its hard for me to believe that you guys are saying no to the chance to sign possibly the best talent Charlotte has seen since Bobcat era. He is ranked 5th in free agency by Hoopshype as you can see in the link. I think we are over thinking this too much and just need to pray we sign him.

His ability to score in the post will take so much pressure off our guards, and honestly I think we are on our way to being one of the more dynamic offensive teams in the league. We just need to add more outside shooting, but Zeller will help space the floor with his midrange game at the 4.

If we could somehow get Mayo, Jefferson, Dorell Wright and McBob in this free agency I would buy season tickets the next day.

Would any of those guys realistically be better fits that Al Jefferson? How many of them are realistic signings next year?

How about Kaman this year? Isn't he a UFA as well?

He's not as cool as Jefferson, but he likely wouldn't be as expensive either.

No. I'm not sure I could force myself to watch the Bobcats if Kaman was on the team and getting regular minutes.

You beat me to this, VG. Would rather have no FA than Kaman.

I have to think that if Charlotte is making him an offer, we will hear about it later today after they meet. He may not make his decision today, but I do think we will know today if we are making him an offer. I think he becomes an asset if we can somehow land him for something in the range of $10-$11 mil per. That would be a good price given what Splitter just signed for in San Antonio. Al at that price becomes a tradable asset should Cho desire to move him later down the line.

Would be nice but like BOB said, I don't believe he wants to play here at all. I'm sure we aren't going to offer significantly more than other teams, and if we do and others are in the same ballpark he'll probably opt for them.

Does signing Al Jeff for $10 mln plus preclude us bringing back Hendo and/or McBob?

I hear that part of the discussion is that Al wants BrotherDave or Fatlever to be his personal attendant to see to all his needs, day or night. Word is that MJ and Cho are working on this right now to see if it will close the deal at $5 mil per. Time to take one for the team men! :)

His offer is going to be a lot more than 10 mill a year.

I'll set it at approximately $12.5 million. Not bad for a scoring big in his prime during today's NBA if you ask me

I'd rather go ahead and sign Hendo & McBob and trade for Robin Lopez, who will cost half AJ's salary, now that RLo's on the market, rather than have to wait for Dwight Howard to decide where he's going so that Al Jeff can determine whether he's gonna get paid anywhere else before telling us whether he'll be willing to play here.

The Bobcats cap situation is a bit messy at the moment. They would have to make some of the same choices to trade for Lopez as they would to just sign Al ... AND have to send something to NO to boot. NO is trying to free cap space so they aren't going to be taking equal salary back.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

man please, you just want the Bobcats to continue tanking so they can have a good chance at getting Wiggins.. smh. LOL

Lopez is a back up, just like Biyombo, give me Jefferson. The bobcats are still going to be a lottery team next season, yall can chill out,

Yea, Lopez won't give you any scoring at all, which is what we need.

Sure would be nice to have a starting center with this kind of offensive capability..

seems awful quiet on the jefferson front. i would have thought we'd have some kind of news by now. something like:

july 3rd: charlotte - the bobcats brought in michael jordan, patrick ewing and mark price to try to convince jefferson to sign with the bobcats today. it is believed that jefferson is looking for a deal close to 60 million over 4 years, however the bobcats did not appear to be ready to offer that much money. it is unclear if the bobcats made a formal offer and if so, for how much. jefferson will visit a few more teams this weekend before making a decision on his future
