East would be alright minus some of the injuriea. Indy is a 50+ probably if they don't have 180 plus player games missed to injury. CHA may be .500 without injuries, ditto to BKN amd Miami. IMO the east wpuld be significantly better tham last ywar without a few of the big injuries.

Good coaches and better GMs is a major difference between winning and losing. Look at Milwaukee, that's all Kidd. They were the worst team in the league a year ago. They win because Kidd make the right choices in-game.

Yet take Knight away and now they're losing games. The point remains - take away your best players and your team is going to suffer, and no amount of coaching is going to be able to compensate for it.

I'm not going act like coaching and FO moves aren't also responsible for where we are, but I'm also not going to act like they are more significant than the extended unavailability of our best players.

That's because MCW is overrated trash. That's a example of a bad GM move. I was saying they had Knight last year and were the worst.

We're in the 8th seed again...for the next ten minutes. But still, not a bad night overall, have to keep it going against the Lakers.

I think the Pacers are the eighth seed.

Yep, you're right. I posted just before they officially beat Philly which put them ahead.

I decided to look at the numbers from last year to this year and Knight is really the change. He was shooting 40% from three vs 32% last year. Almost everything else on offense was the same. Then they dedicated to defense and what a turnaround. They really are doing exactly what we did.

MCW with an offseason with Jason Kidd could get interesting, but as of right now, they seriously downgraded.

We could realistically hit the jackpot and get a five or six seed if MIL and WAS continue to self destruct. All the middle tier playoff teams are falling off - TOR has been awful, WAS has been bad, CHI now has Rose and Butler (and maybe Gibson) out, MIL looks bad with MCW. I'm cheering for us to get healthy and then steal a higher seed.

3/3/14 - we have a record of 27 - 33
3/3/15 - we have a record of 24 - 33

I expect the season to end like the 2014 season, but hopefully we land that 5 or 6 seed instead of falling a game short.

I am not sure we can hold the pace we did last season. I hope we can but our team has been in so much flux I see it being really hard.

Perhaps, but I personally find it amazing that we are almost on the same pace despite the crazy injuries we've had. I think our potential is much higher with our current team once we are healthy.

Agreed. I think our schedule is harder this season and we are not as settled in because of the injuries.

Technically I should have waited until after tonight's game to make this post.

We are two wins off our pace last season. 27 - 33 vs. 25 - 33.

I think you could argue the East is a little stronger than last year but regardless we are still right there in striking distance.

I've been keeping an eye on Milwaukee as much or more than anyone else. That team is going down in a hurry.

Only 6 back of them with 25 left to play, and they play at Golden State tonight. Good luck to them.

MIL lost to DEN last night the same day that they fired their coach. Yikes.

Maybe it was a celebration victory for DEN?

Lol I dunno, but Bucks fans despise MCW even more than they ever did Knight, which is a ton. Bless their hearts.

Kind of funny how this board is ready to fire Cho because we don't get involved in last second trades, but then a couple teams we are targeting in the playoff race (DET and MIL) are suffering big time because of moves they made.
