Re: 2019 Offseason Thread
If Kemba leaves we need to trade anything we can get a positive asset for not named Bridges and Washington. To rebuild well we need to work on the idea we are on the timetable of Bridges rookie deal. Build based on everyone finding fits by the time he is due an extension so we can capitalize on any cap space we have to fit around the best youth we can acquire.

Monk is the guy you give up if you have to in order to get pieces around Kemba to improve the roster. He’s also the type of player we should be looking to acquire if we are in rebuilding mode as he could develop into a nice player given his age and experience in the league. Third or fourth year is where there’s going to be a jump (if there’s a jump)

Re: 2019 Offseason Thread
Mudiay isn’t a better talent than Cody Martin.
He doesn’t seem to be much of a leader, emotional or otherwise.
He doesn’t do anything at a high level and he can’t shoot.
Derrick Rose and Shane Larkin should be the if Kemba leaves replacement plan.
Set the bar higher.

I'd love to see Batum in another jersey. It would be a bright spot in what has been a **** week so far. Maybe get involved with Houston and send him out as a salary match with us getting some salary relief on the last year of his deal.

The best thing about free agency will be seeing stupid amounts of money handed out to mediocre players. In another few days Batum's deal isn't going to look quite as bad.

Shopping at the local junkyard. I dont think its possible to trade Nic without attaching assets to him, which we obviously shouldn't do if Kemba is leaving.

Yep, Oubre and Portis are going to get paid 15 to 20 million a season.

The bright side of us having no cap space again is we can’t sign any stupid deals.

I wouldn't mind signing a bigger guard that can play defense to start alongside Monk or Bacon. Mudiay and Payton are worth taking a look at.

We really need to try and get Ingram if Kemba is indeed gone, he's a good creator with the ball in his hand and we could be very athletic and "switchy" around him

Re: 2019 Offseason Thread
I guess things could be worse, what if we had traded Monk, Bridges, or the pick we used on PJ and Kemba still left?

This! I really don’t get these teams. Did they not learn anything from 2016? 1 more season and we can rid ourselves of Batum and Cody.

Re: 2019 Offseason Thread
I posted this in March in the "If Kemba Leaves" thread
sign rfa Emmanual Mudiay age 23 away from NYK who will presumably be focused on Dennis Smith, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant
this generation of PGs is 6'5 not 6'1; Mudiay brings size & physicality to draw fouls at game end
look at his numbers this yr not so bad
I'd target EMu to be Charlotte's next PG
Remember the disastrous NYK-CHA game in Dec where he took over the game late by overpowering Kemba, scored 35 pts leading the Knicks back from a double digit deficit to a NYK overtime win, one of the horrendous losses that cost us a playoff spot? Mudiay's first 3 seasons in the league he looked like he couldn't play. His fg% average was in the low 30s. Last year he looked like a different player. Field goal % jumped to 44%, 77% free throw. Caveat: At 23 Mudiay is young but improving, I like the fit with our young core, but he is not going to look as good "running" the floor with old timers like Nic Batum and Marvin Williams.
Also, of note, his q.o. is $5.7M, which happens to be the practical cap space we currently have

Re: 2019 Offseason Thread
You're in luck because the Knicks didn't extend the QO to Mudiay, he's an unrestricted free agent.

I’d rather Dennis Smith Jr if at all possible.

Re: 2019 Offseason Thread
Zach Lowe said that he think the Wolves have a trade lined up for Wiggins that's neutral or positive, meaning they aren't paying to dump him. Let us all hope and pray that the team dealing for him isn't the Hornets.
A guy on the Wolves forum is claiming it's us, sending out Batum for Wiggins. And if Lowe is right there won't be anything else involved in the trade, no draft assets coming back to take on the two extra years. Ugh, I really hope this is BS. Why would we low-ball an actual star player that the city adores and loves only to trade for the most overpaid player in the league?
