It's been a decade since then though and something needs to change. The city and the fans deserve something better.

Edit: Some of the same people rumored to be interested in buying the Commanders were also interested in buying the Hornets. Now that the Commanders have been sold I hope whoever lost out will turn their attention to the Hornets.

I would like the largest or one of the major shareholders at least be black as I do think its important for the league and I'm proud for Charlotte to be the standard bearer of that

The roster, at least the vets, are poor fits.
The roster, including Melo, are injury prone.

Just swap out some key pieces and we'll likely make it if Melo is healthy. But if we keep the same roster + add a non-Wemb rookie, we're probably a fringe playin team again.

Do you have any appetite to trade Ball if we can get a godfather offer?

I don't give a damn what his color, sexual orientation, favorite color, or political party is.

I want someone with a **** ton of money who wants to win basketball games.

I will speak for myself and say yes. What he did recently shouldn't have broken an ankle.

Hard pass, why would we want to trade arguably the best young player in the last 20 years? Just so we can tank for another 3 years? Half the fan base could barely handle one year of tanking.

Obviously not for someone just as good but I'd want a young player back too not just 4 future 1sts from a contender

I just want to remind folks that I was pushing for this team to trade for a guy who was surprisingly on the block, that didn’t require a big price.

Last night, Rui Hachimura scores 29 points in a playoff game to help the Lakers win.

It would have been a savvy trade…right Mitch?
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

PJ is better than Rui, no reason to make that trade when both will need to be paid this summer.

A savvy trade idea I've got is to take advantage of the Sun's situation with Chris Paul and get rid of the excess depth we don't need (Rozier/Bouknight/Kai). Chris Paul's contact is only partially guaranteed next season and fully unguaranteed after that. Chris Paul gets to retire a Hornet in his home state and hopefully teach this team how to win. The Suns get younger and take a flyer on a recent lottery pick.

There's a lot of billowing smoke surrounding Golden State this season. A lot of people around the league expect their GM, Bob Myers, to walk away from the team this summer. Klay is demanding a max extension, and Draymond has the ability to opt out at the end of the season. It might be the end of the road for them.

You have to wonder what Curry will want to do. Does he stick around for what will likely be a futile retooling? Does he ask for a trade? And if so is there any chance in hell he wants to come home to Charlotte? Bill Simmons suggested the other day that we would trade Victor Wembanyama for him. I don't think even this organization is that shortsighted, but surely we would trade a lot for him.

Lol. I love Curry and hope he plays a season here eventually, but ain't nobody trading VW for a 35 year old Curry retirement tour. Come on Bill.

I 99% sure Simmons saying that was intended as a shot at us being incompetent, not something he actually thinks would be possible.

Sounds about right. I should known it was a dig.

My reminder every time Simmons is quoted:

"Simmons is a devout Jordan and Charlotte hater. Everything he says must be framed within the mindset of inherent negativity."

Just seen Nick Nurse got fired by the Raptors, I'd have him at Charlotte any day. I met him when he was coach in England with the Birmingham Bullets and he was very approachable and always had time for the fans. He won the BBL play offs in 1996 with the Bullets also in 2000 with Manchester Giants franchise. We've all seen what he's done with Toronto and there 1st NBA championship he's a really good tactician but even better players coach I'd love him at the Hornets

IMO it would honestly be pretty **** to fire Cliff, considering the fact that he saved the franchise from complete humiliation last summer. Just from a pure optics perspective would be a terrible look.

the situation was humiliating regardless, including them bringing back a dude they fired to hire the guy they just fired

This, no way to really save face after what happened last summer. We looked like the worst organization in the league after Atkinson backed out.

Hiring Cliff was part of the humiliation.

If we would've hired one of the other candidates that interviewed then the Atkinson situation wouldn't have been that bad.

Instead, we went back to a guy that we already fired a couple years ago and didn't even interview for the job.

But yeah, he isn't getting fired unless we struggle again next season and they don't decide to run it back again.

Hiring Cliff was very far from worst case scenario. What would really be humiliating is literally not being able to find anyone to fill the job the whole summer because you reopened the search and had zero decent candidates interested because of the **** show we had going on.

Yeah, I get that it's embarrassing to have to call Cliff, but that's not on Cliff and it would be an awful looking move to have him parachute in when we desperately needed him and have him save us, then deal with the **** storm that was last off-season and season, then immediately fire him.

Return to Charlotte Hornets
