What about Salaun?

He's never been in the list. He's probably working on his game and watching his sister play in the wnba.
Maybe he will visit the French NT at some point, no clue what his relations are with the current staff.

@Fat

Ditto, While i agree that he could have been pretty interesting as a small ball center with his skillset, in offense he would have been another Gobert (minus the passing skill, Moussa is a decent passer at least better than Gobert).
Outside the pnr issue, he has no post game (which is still a factor here) and is not big enough against what main european countries can provide. Also, he does not have the skillset to be a factor in half court situation, and we will have lots of these normally - zone defense included.

I've been saying since we drafted him that I bet they view Tiddy as a small ball center once he adds weight. Especially after not showing a ton of lateral quickness desired for perimeter work.

That's going to be his niche if he sticks around the league long term

They haven't mentioned anything about it in any media stuff that I've seen, but have to think that in the FO's mind both Tidjane and Grant are potential fall back depth options at center.

I hope not.

In his entire professional career (going back to France), across 151 record games, he has 27 blocks total. 3,351 total minutes. This comes out to less than 0.2 blocks per game and less than 0.3 blocks per 36 minutes. These are absolutely horrific, verging on worst of all time, rim protection numbers for a potential center.

I'm not saying it's the right thing to do

Is there any center left in the East that scares anybody anyway? Towns?

Embiid, even in a reduced state will destroy us.

The Mobley+Allen interior duo will overwhelm a lot of teams in the paint.

Bam isn't dominant but he is very very good.

Paolo could feasibly become a monster. Not really a C, but ORL might be better off if he was and they got some spacing around him

Giannis isn't really a center but he might as well be one with how much damage he does in the paint, and he will abuse any big we put on him.

Towns as you mentioned, is a matchup nightmare. He's dropped 60+ on us

Even Porzingis has a good 6 inch height advantage on our likely starting C. A fully healthy and engaged KP scares me. Otherwise meh

I suppose if you ignore half of the East's big men, the other half doesn't scare me :D

okay, but I am just saying, of the guys you mentioned, Mobley, Bam and Paulo are kinda undersized themselves so I worry less about Moose being undersized in those matchups

Towns is lazy, Allen is better but not exactly a star himself, Embiid is injured and might not play at all next season if ever again, Porzingis has a mystery illness himself and is small from a weight standpoint anyway.

Well, Moussa might be called again. French federation just announced that Poirier (who was our starting center) is out becoz of an injury for next Eurobasket. We dont know yet who will replace him, i will let you know if it's Moussa.

Little edit that should please everyone. Diabate was contacted by french NT and he refused to come back because he wants to dedicate himself to prepare next nba season
