Yes I would... My track record after my Toni Carr pick has been pretty good lol. I do REALLY well considering I pick players who are NOT ON MOCKS when I find them and then they end up being solid NBA dudes often better than projected Lottery picks
I mean you could take flagg or Harper and get one if those guys in the 2nd easily.

Nah, then I wouldn't be UNCNYC lmao.

Welp my picks are in

With pick one *for the board* I will take Ian Jackson. Just to make you guys happy...

But my UNCNYC first pick goes to Kanon Catchings. He's raw but good upside imo.

My 2nd pick goes to Braeden Shrewsberry

Others I would consider

Jason Sanon
Naithan George
Kobe Brea
Kam Jones

Really don't know what to make of Bailey. Looks superhuman in the highlights and then the statheads post about how he's a net negative overall. Really think Miles and his defense (or lack thereof) at the 4 is one of the biggest things holding this team back, very real risk we end up adding more of the same seeing Bailey's hype train.

Bailey is a Rashard Lewis clone right now. His lack of handle has him in that stretch pf role as of now. The good thing is he can shoot. So at worst he's a floor stretcher at 6'10.

Of the top 7 he's probably the worst fit with us. Not really a fan of 2 lanky shooters with no strength in the same starting lineup that would be Miller/Bailey.

Bailey could go anywhere from 3-7 I don't think he drops any lower or gets any higher than that range.

Flagg would fix us. He’s a dookie and I hate him as a result. But he is absolutely perfect for us. It’s almost too perfect of a fit.

Eh come on in 05 we drafted Felton and May. I hated them in college but god damn did I want them to succeed. They didn’t. My college allegiance goes right out the door after the draft.

While I favor Harper, I do think Flagg would be also be nice. You also won't see me bashing Flagg to try and up Harper. Unlike last year when I blasted Scoot every chance I got. 8-)

Flagg is now at...

17.4 ppg ~ 8.4 rpg ~ 3.6 apg ~ 1.6 spg ~ 1.3 bpg
44.7% fg ~ 30.0% 3pt ~ 78.7% ft ~ 54.1% true shooting
+33.8 net ~ +13.4 bpm

Pretty wild for someone who has been 18 years old for less than a month. Hes ahead of Tatum and Banchero in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks, on both a per possession and per game basis with a significantly higher net rating and bpm. His scoring efficiency is only behind them by 1%-2% true shooting. I'm not interested in arguing over buzzwords, but I think hes one of the best wing/forward prospects Ive ever seen.

(box stats = per 75 possessions)

Cooper Flagg ~ F ~ 6'9" 205
Duke (ACC) ~ Fr ~ 18.6 yrs
Spoiler:
25.4 pts ~ 12.2 reb ~ 5.3 ast ~ 2.4 stl ~ 1.9 blk ~ 3.3 tov
50.0% 2pt (14.6 2pta) ~ 30.0% 3pt (5.2 3pta) ~ 78.7% ft (7.8 fta) ~ 54.1% ts
116.5 ORtg ~ 82.7 DRtg ~ +13.4 bpm (+6.3/+7.1) ~ 30.5% usg

Jayson Tatum ~ F ~ 6'8" 205
Duke (ACC) ~ Fr ~ 19.3 yrs
Spoiler:
21.7 pts ~ 9.5 reb ~ 2.8 ast ~ 1.7 stl ~ 1.5 blk ~ 3.4 tov
50.4% 2pt (11.0 2pta) ~ 34.2% 3pt (5.2 3pta) ~ 84.9% ft (6.2 fta) ~ 56.6% ts
111.4 ORtg ~ 97.8 DRtg ~ +7.9 bpm (+4.6/+3.2) ~ 26.2% usg

Paolo Banchero ~ PF ~ 6'10" 250
Duke (ACC) ~ Fr ~ 19.6 yrs
Spoiler:
23.0 pts ~ 10.4 reb ~ 4.3 ast ~ 1.4 stl ~ 1.2 blk ~ 3.2 tov
52.5% 2pt (13.1 2pta) ~ 33.8% 3pt (4.4 3pta) ~ 72.9% ft (6.5 fta) ~ 55.7% ts
113.8 ORtg ~ 98.1 DRtg ~ +7.7 bpm (+5.4/+2.3) ~ 27.5% usg

All I know is I somehow both envy and do not envy the GM that has to make the call of Flagg or Harper.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

You could hardly dream up a better player to unlock this roster imo. I think he is comfortably the best prospect in the class (also youngest), but I also think he is the best fitting prospect for the Hornets by a large margin.

Maybe I'm getting caught up in the moment with this take, but I think if the Hornets got the 2nd pick I would be willing to trade at least a 1st round pick to move up one spot to take Flagg. I actually think Harper looks like an excellent prospect on paper, so maybe thats unnecessarily aggressive, but I think Flagg might be that good. I probably shouldn't be saying something like this until I actually watch Harper play, though.

I haven’t watched anybody yet, but I believe the nba draft is rigged and we will not be getting a top pick.

Oh yeah. There’s zero chance we ever get the #1 pick.

To be fair we’ve actually had really good luck lately. Just not number 1 kinda luck.

Our conversation would be so different today had we won #1 instead of #2 in the Wemby draft.

He is in his own league.

Might go undrafted as a 5th-year player, but Duke has been on an absolute tear since they made Sion James a starter. Maybe worth trying out on a two-way, especially if we do end up picking #1 and get that other guy...

I'd also package both our 2nd-rounders for a late first to get Penda. If bravor's right and this kid's Joe Ingles with an NBA body then he's a no-brainer to shore up both our wing spots, and maybe even the 5 with his help defense.

This is a player I have tracked since high school but I now have him in my top 3 players I LOVE this year

The first 2 are Braeden Shrewsberry and Kanon Catchings

the other is

Andrej Stojakovic - smooth like his Dad. Could be a franchise player. I fell in love with his game.

Below are many names I have had for a while. All when they were not mocked now mocked or known...

Naithan George
Hunter Sallis
Kam Jones

Brandin Cummings
Fedor Zugic

Tucker DeVries
Grant Nelson
Nique Clifford
Kobe Brea

Watching the Duke game. Flagg looks solid on D but not jumping off the page overall. Might be the top prospect but he doesn’t look like a guy that is going to walk through the door and change our fortunes.
