Gross. 'They weren't treating me like a star, so I half-assed it.'

Well, the Lakers and Bron are feeding his ego now. Still doubt he takes a pay cut to stay and happy he's not a Hornet.

what a clueless and unprofessional way to approach your career.

I can't believe people still wish he was on the roster

I actually think the prior quote might be worse:

"It was always, 'Oh, Malik was a minute late to get treatment.' 'Oh, Malik didn't go to treatment, he felt like he didn't have to do treatment.' It was always some stuff outside of the basketball world," Monk says. "So I really have been trying to figure out what was going on. But yeah, I never, never, never knew, man. Never figured it out."

Turns out that being bought in off the court is how you get on the court. Don't act like being unprofessional off the court isn't related. He apparently still doesn't realize that.

i'll never forgive the front office for pivoting last minute off mitchell for this dude. tried to get too cute with "value" instead of trusting due diligence.

those quotes are baffling, that he'd say them thinking it made the hornets look bad.

This thread is well over 100 pages, and Monk just continues to lack self awareness and want to play the victim card.

Should this thread be locked?

He doesn't deserve to be in the NBA. He belongs in the Brown Frown HOF with Batum and the Dust Chip

I can't remember the last time an active player literally admitted to just shooting and playing 50% on D. He won't ever grow up. Him and that current Lakers team are a match made in heaven.

I think there are about 5 or 6 guys on the roster right now that also apply this attitude. None of them are dumb enough to state it publicly though!

But Monk just continues to prove what a jackass he is.

"Monk's reputation continued to grow. It was always, 'Oh, Malik was a minute late to get treatment.' 'Oh, Malik didn't go to treatment, he felt like he didn't have to do treatment.' It was always some stuff outside of the basketball world," [SNORTING COCAINE?!?!] Monk says. "So I really have been trying to figure out what was going on. But yeah, I never, never, never knew, man. Never figured it out.
He admits he let the circumstances sap his spirit."

I'm lazy, not committed and a quitter, why won't coach play me?

That's not how Hollinger's stuff works Rich. His Board$ stuff is what his stuff estimates a player is worth in free agency, not a measure of how much he thinks they'll get. If you actually read it he talks about how players will probably earn more or less than that multiple times.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Return to Charlotte Hornets
