Did they have full box scores? Love to know how many shots he took, assists he had, trips to the line he made etc.

Here's some vids, (stolen from Ziggy on BCP)

Those clips are fun, but what sort of dinky league is it?

In that 2nd last clip the entire paint clears out and just lets him iso. He even loses the handle at one point but because there is no pressure he just picks it back up and scores. There doesn't seem to be any size on the court at all protecting the rim - which just lets Kemba roll on through.

I do agree though, I can't WAIT to see him playing for us on the real stage of the NBA.

I wish all our guys were getting together and playing some pick up. It would be great to see DJ, Kemba, T2, Biz, DJW all out running together.

The Dyckman League is one of the more well known summer circuits out there. Kemba, Artest, Durant, Beasley, Jennings, etc. I read recently that Kemba is the highest scoring player ever in the Dyckman League. Of course though, big name guys like him and Jennings probably don't get smacked around too much because they're "too valuable". I just like seeing him go hard and stay in shape.

I really don't have any idea if any of our other guys are summer circuit players. Does anybody know?

From what I have seen of the Pro Am league here in Durham, N.C. there is no real defense played, and most of the players are average college kids with a pro player thrown in here and there. As much as I want to think of Kemba as the next Tim Hardaway these Pro am performances mean little in that regard.

All of those are, or will be NBA players. That's as good a summer circuit as you'll find anywhere.

Doesn't matter who is there if they are just half arsing it or not playing any D at all etc. Then it just becomes a pick up/streetball game - just with players who's names you know.

That's why I'm not blown away by those clips. Kemba was just allowed to waltz where ever he wanted with little to no defensive pressure.

Sure, but they definitely aren't average college kids. They don't call it the "Rucker of the South" for no reason.

You can't really expect them to go all out anyway. They aren't playing for money or a championship or anything. Just seeing him (them) out there is good enough for me

Oh, no doubt SWeed - I love the fact that Kemba is out there at least getting some reps in. I wish all our guys were out there doing the same thing.

I guess I'm just trying to keep things in perspective. Watching any player make some nifty moves on a court when no one is really guarding him or reading guys like Brandon Jennings or Corey Brewer or Ryan Gomes talking a rookie up (what are they going to say - that he sucks?) doesn't get me too excited.

I can't frigging WAIT to see him play in a meaningful game with a Bobcats jersey on though!

Those are the headliners dude. You make it seem like these are the only guys on the floor. There are at least nine teams of ten. Unless my math is way off the twenty names you mentioned would not be the majority of ninety players.

I doubt anyone else made an offer. If there are any girls on the forum, or someone feels like asking their wife, is Kemba good looking? I can rarely ever tell, personally.

Being one of the most recognizable players coming out of the draft, I'm fairly certain he got more than one offer.

And I like UA as a up and coming brand. They've grown quite a bit over recent years.

Michael Phelps, Tom Brady, Ray Lewis, Anquan Boldin, Vernon Davis, Cam Newton, Rick Nash, GSP, Brandon Jennings, Kemba Walker, Derrick Williams, Jose Reyes, and Bryce Harper are some of the big name athletes. And I know they sponsor everything at my school (South Carolina), Auburn, and Maryland. I'm sure there are a lot of others.

Of course they aren't Nike, but they have a nice brand considering they've only been around for about 15 years.

When I said "I doubt" I think I meant "Maybe". At any rate, they probably made the most lucrative offer.

Let's hope and pray that his play lives up to his hype. If he does then our future begins to look brighter and brighter.

I've seen some guys on other boards compare Kemba to Tony Parker of late - which I think is an interesting comparison (both speedy and able to get into the paint but with poor range on their J) but the guy I have been thinking he might compare to the most, in both a good and bad way, is Russell Westbrook.

Think about it.
- They are both athletic (although Russell slightly more)
- They both have good mid range J's
- They are both confident in their own abilities
- They both have leadership qualities
- They are both more combo's than they are pure points
- They both lack range on their J
- They can both get caught up getting their own rather than getting their team mates theirs

What do you think? Can you see it?

How about a combination? The best of Parker and the best of Westbrook. I'll tke that. :-)
