Haha so true, so true. We'd be helping them out since neither are in their plans long term. Farmer's contract isn't too overpaid but it's still a waste for a rebuilding team.

I'm with you Crunk that it won't hurt us to help out Jersey & it's a great way to network.

Diaw for a pick. Absolutely.

And I challenge that free throw video with this wonderful gif of mine. (thanks to Lamar Matic)

Oh, I didn't think about the networking aspect of it. I was thinking about helping in conference teams as being a bad thing, lol.

Farmer is only for 1 more year and if we trade DJ, which seems likely, he could be handy as a back up.

Yeah I misread it though reading it again it's pretty straightforward.

I wouldn't mind helping them a bit since the chances they get Dwight are pretty high & if they do they're quite ahead of us in the rivalry stakes for a while.

The in conference thing sucks but we won't be winning it all during their window anyway(if they get Dwight)

I would entertain a deal of Farmar+Petro+Jordan Williams(+second?) for Diaw+Higgins.

Asking for a first might be a strech despite the salary dump.

Jordan Williams can be very good under the right tutelege and I'm a big fan of his, he has legit 4/5 size and is young and has high upside. I couldn't believe he went in the second round.

I like Farmar and one year isn't going to kill us.

As far as salary dumps go this deal is alright for us whether we get the first or Williams.

Yeah but so is Petro. Eh. I'd hate to do all that for a second round pick in 3298.

And I wouldn't bother for anything less than a first. Just because there's not much gain for us.

As of right now, we would get that Houston pick this year as they are picking 16th.

I think a year of Petro is worth the risk, and if all else fails we are trading an expiring this year, for expirings next year where we can wheel and deal again.

Seems quite low risk to me.

Houston is looking to make trades. They're volatile, and the west is strong. I think that if they don't get what they want, they might move Scola for younger pieces and slip to the lottery so they can have their pick now instead of never.

Even still, what are we giving up? We take the best deal we can for our expiring, and turn them into expirings next year. I can't see the risk.

Am I alone in this being my favourite time of the year with all the dealing going on.

i'm all on board with this trade and here is why:

1. We get a 1st rounder for Diaw. Many of us Bobcat fans know we have been ridiculed on trade board when we suggested we could get a first for Diaw exp. Well with this trade we do. And if Houston makes the Playoffs it will be a solid 15-20 pick. Remember what we were able to accomplish last year with no.19.

2. This trade fits in our rebuilding plan like a glove. We trade an exp. contract for more assets in picks and solid players. Their contracts are up next year when we also have Diop, Maggette and Carrol expiring. The plan does not include us singing any big contracts this summer so the cap space we are loosing means nothing.

3. Players we get back are actually better than the player going out. Farmar is solid and gives us a chance to trade DJ for another 1st round pick. Plus farmar is a good 3pt shooter something we really need.

It is a gamble, but may be worth taking. I think the Houston pick is Lottery protected thru 2016, and becomes a 2nd rounder in 2017. But Houston is currently the #8 West seed. Behind them is Minny, who just lost Rubio. Then Utah and Portland, and they dont seem to be able to make much of a push. So good chance we would get the pick this 2012 Draft. I also like having Farmar to backup Kemba, and it allows us to freely trade DJ for perhaps another 1st round pick in the 2012 Draft.

Very interesting scenario to take this gamble. I can see both the argument for and against it from a Bobcat POV. Now, if it is true, will be interesting to see if Cho is a gambler.

It’s less than three full days until the Thursday 3 p.m. trade deadline and here’s what I’m hearing concerning the Bobcats:
The New Jersey Nets would like Boris Diaw’s expiring $9 million contract number, and they’d give up the future first-round pick the Houston Rockets owe them to accomplish that. The Bobcats would have to take players with financial obligations beyond this season.
I hear Jordan Farmar and Johan Petro would come to Charlotte. Would the Bobcats do that and lower their salary-cap flexibility? Hard to say.

Tell Paul Silas he can kiss Kemba's ass.

Now, I am going to daydream here and get excited. So grant me this moment please. Let's say we do the Diaw deal with NJ and get a Houston pick around #17. We trade DJ and end up with a pick in the early 20's. Suppose we combine those to move up into the end of the Lottery. Just for a moment, imagine we walk out of the 2012 Draft with Davis and Beal. Could we possibly follow up a Biyombo - Kemba draft with a Davis - Beal one? Do we dare to dream we could be that lucky? Could the Charlotte Bobcats ever have a starting 5 of Walker, Beal, Hendo, Davis, Biyombo? Talk about young, energetic and athletic. That would be a fun team to watch.

Diaw for Farmar is good value! I'm not real sure what all you guys are complaining about. Farmar could be a part of our future plans as he is an excellent back-up PG in this league!

I'm not sure Houston makes the playoffs, but I think they have a really good chance. Especially now with Rubio down. Houston is looking to make a trade to improve, not go back to rebuilding. They have young assets, they need some kind of "star" type player now. Getting a Gasol, or Bogut would do that. I think they will make a trade to improve their total value and put them in the playoffs. Thus, giving us that first this year.

If the bobcats have no plan to keep DJA, then they should probably take that NJ Deal. Farmar would be a great backup PG and is only $4MM next year. There's no need for cap space next year, as we wont sign any star player. That draft pick would come in handy with the talented Cho.

I would throw in the Higgins as a bonus.

:o  Petro/Farmer Hou 1st round 2012 pick for DJA and Diaw doesn't work in trade checker.. NJN need to add other players? Who? Shawnee Williams? Also we are basically trading DJ for Farmer and Diaw's expring for Petro. Will Houston make the playoffs this year?
Hum   Nope..Only Diaw/Hig for Farmer and Petro and fillin makes any sense..

Did you notice Silas Show cased Diaw, Hig and TT last night?
SOMETHINGS UP.. CHO's burning the telephones up between now and Thursday 3pm?
Lets just hope Michael stays out of the way and lets him do his job.

DJ would not be included in the deal. It's just Diaw for Petro/Farmar/Hou 1st.

The NJ deal is minus DJA. It is Petro/Farmar and the Houston 1st for Diaw. Anything involving DJA would be a completely different deal and likely NOT involve the Nets.

Looks like there could be a huge shake-up in Milwuakee. Reports say that in a Bogut trade they would be getting a very good PG back which in turn would lead to them trading Jennings. You would have to assume Jackson is most likely a part of one of those trades. Only PG I can really think is Lowry from Houston, but that would leave Houston without a PG. If that's the case, we could jump in with DJ. PURELY SPECULATION!!! Should be interesting next couple days! Gotta love the trade deadline.
