Great if Jeremy.

Vet presence then.

Maybe we could sign him for the min and trade them in the offseason.

Damn why no Selby?

Jeremy signed with PHI remainder of season, so that means Jannaro, which is pretty depressing.

How much do you think both will go for?
What should we offer?

The irony is both young guys are better than the vets in front of them. If they get Kabongo with one of their firsts, which appears the direction that they're headed in a young core of Kabongo, Burks, Hayward, Favors and Kanter is outstanding. No way they get Wiggins with that talent level.

seriously, stop talking about kabongo in every single thread. your agenda is getting tiresome. if you want to talk about college guys and draft picks, keep it in the draft thread.

Rank these free agents in terms of offseason interest.

Andrew Bynum/Josh Smith/Paul Millsap/Al Jefferson/Nikola Pekovic

Josh Smith
Andrew Bynum
Nikola Pekovic
Paul Millsap
Al Jefferson

Pekovich
Milsap
Jefferson
Bynum
Smith

I really don't like Smith on this team, a stupid, jump shooting, super athletic forward. Bynum is just to scary a risk for the money he will get.

Pekovich and Millsap seem like the safe bets IMO (which means we will probably get neither)

I'm not talking us, NBA wise I mean.

For us I'd go.

Jefferson
Millsap
Pekovic
Smith

ah k, makes sense. I'd probably agree with your list order.

I'm cooling on Jefferson because of his awful defensive skills.

League-wide...

Bynum
Smith
Pek
Jefferson
Millsap

For us I'm inclined to agree with Sachmo, though maybe swapping Bynum and Smith. Both are DO.NOT.WANT. for me though.

I think we are severely underrating Josh Smith. You guys are too focused on his one negative is that he is not a great outside shooter. He is the best defender out of that group and the most versatile on offense. he would be a great player to sign if we plan on trying to run in the future.

I would rank them

Millsap
Smith
Pek
Jefferson
Bynum

the worse part about him not being a great outside shooter, is that he keeps taking outside shots.

I just want a big with a post game.

Jefferson will probably be the lowest on the list in terms of perceived value for money but he is a better player than given credit for and a better player than Millsap and a much better player than Pekovic.

I would rather sign him than Josh Smith at the same price and Bynum is too much of a risk, neither of them would come here anyway which leaves us with a market of...Millsap, Jefferson, Pekovic and OJ Mayo.

Jefferson will be overlooked in many regards this offseason and we should take a run at him.

Jefferson's defense is average but we don't necessarily need him for his defense as our biggest areas of need are post scoring and rebounding at this point.

If we get the number one pick and go with McLemore then our core is pretty much set at:

Kemba/McLemore/Gilchrist/????????/Biyombo

This is the part where we give that team an identity, winning games is how we would maximize the development of the mentioned Kemba/McLemore/Gilchrist/Biyombo core

I agree too, that Bynum is too much of a risk. I wouldn't pursue him at all.

If I have to choose between Jefferson and Smith (not that he would ever play here) I would go with Smith. He has flaws (not only the jumper, but attitude issues as well), but he is much more the player I like to have in my team. First: he has defense. Jefferson doesn't. Second: he has the body and energy (Jefferson is bigger, I know, but he must be compared to the centers, while Smith to 4s). Jefferson is pretty average there. I like Al's offensive skill set, he could be more dominant here, but Smith's energy and thoughness is more needed and he is a better fit I think.

Between Jefferson and Millsap, I'd go with Jefferson.

Pekovic would interest me only if he wouldn't pursue a near-max deal.

Pek Pek and more Pek. Failing that...

I'd much rather have Smith to Jefferson. Bismack would likely drive his car into the nearest telephone pole after having to guard Mullen's messes these two years and Al Jeff makes Mullens look like Bill Russell on D.
