We haven't had this much talent in the frontcourt probably since Zo and LJ. A lot of teams in the NBA would love to have our mix of talented youth and experience in the frontcourt.

Bobcats forward Josh McRoberts agrees to re-sign with two-year, $6 million contract with a players option in 2nd year, source tells Y! Sports

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is more than the room exception. What happens to Gerald? I believe we'd need to cut someone to re-sign Gerald now, or did I calculate this wrong?

Eric Pincus ‏@EricPincus 2m

In other words - Jefferson, McRoberts, cap hold for Henderson - they're about $1.5 mil over cap - so still some work to do befor Jefferson

looks like you are correct.

everyone in our frontcourt brings a very different skill to the team

jefferson: low post scoring, rebounding
biz: blocks: rim protection
zeller: athleticism, shooting
mcroberts: playmaking, ball handling

we have options to counter the opposing teams now.

Great news about McRoberts. I love what he brings to the floor and he should help solidify our frontcourt tremendously.

My count at 10 guys + 2 cap holds (Hendo and Zeller) is $1,006,609 OVER the cap. Just as long as Hendo's first year is under $6.7m though (assuming we bring him back) we should have no problem signing Al.

Plus then we'd have the MLE to play with should we exceed the cap.

i guess its possible the starting year for jefferson could be lower than expected. or perhaps we are confident we can get hendo signed for less than 7.75mil cap hold.

Glad to see McRob back! That's a good deal for us, much like the Sessions deal of last offseason.

I would look for Haywood to be moved. He's making 2 million, and would probably carry some value for a contender. Might be able to make up the difference in a trade involving him.

I like our frontcourt though. Very solid group of 4 guys...probably the most talented front court in the Bobcats history.

We still got Haywood. He provides us rebounding and 6 fouls.

Seriously though, I like what Cho and Jordan are doing with our frontcourt so far. Granted, I still want us to have a bad record next season for the 2014 draft but our frontcourt is really shaping up now. I can only think of 3-4 teams in the east that rival our frontcourt depth. Indy, Brooklyn, Chicago, and maybe Detroit.

YES! This is huge. While the Bobcats hope Zeller can give them the good stuff McRoberts did + more, they know what McRoberts brings and he really helped the team last year. IMHO getting McRoberts back was actually more important than getting Hendo back even with the Big Al signing.

Contract isn't bad ... but I do wish it was longer. If that gets me a ban so be it.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I pop in to see what everyone says about the re-signing and the first post I see is how we traded Warrick for McRoberts............................

Please, for the love of god, rethink this silly thread compilation system.

Eric Pincus ‏@EricPincus 24m

Bobcats can gain an extra $426k in cap room if they cut Jeff Adrian - but really issue on timing will be Gerald Henderson

Our front court is solid as hell...for the first time EVER?

Awesome. Maybe Hendo is out of the picture...trade BG expiring and Portland pick for Eric Gordon and call it an offseason if thats the case.

Rick Bonnell ‏@rick_bonnell 17m

Can confirm Bobcats have come to terms with Josh McRoberts. Slightly less than number reported elsewhere: 2-years, total value of $5.5M.

even better news....

Now if we can resign Hendo and trade Haywood for a second rounder that would put the cap on the best Bobcat offseason ever. :)

Really happy to see him return. Good deal for both sides. I hope we keep rocky it's always nice to have a tough player who rebounds the ball for cheap.
