I'd give him 7 minutes at back up PG and 18 minutes at SG with Kemba.

25 minutes.

I hope Clifford is reading these quotes from Stauskas.

I would give him all the minutes Neal played and some of the back pg. With Neal's 23 and 7 as a backup point he would get 30 right away.

Only problem I have with this clip is that other than the 2 or 3 drives he had pretty much every single bucket he made was pulling up behind the three point line. I hope he has some variety to his offensive game.

Some very, very, very nice passing though.

30 is a ton for a rookie and it's a long season so I would hedge against him getting worn down or injured. He'd be handling the ball an awful lot. As for Neal's 23, most of those were not with Kemba (if I recall correctly) and I want to get Hendo away from Kemba. He's an anvil around his neck eating up shock clock, too slow to get buy a defender, too inconsistent to convert would-be assists.

Neal should be dealt.

I'm already very disappointed we aren't getting rumors linking us to this guy, never mind actually getting the guy. But at least we didn't hear a peep about Cody Zeller up until the last minute. And they did work out Zeller towards the end of everything.

I'm not too worried about rumors. It'll work itself out. We're still a month out. Though if we get up to draft week and still no rumors connecting us and Stauskas then I may panic.

If we do not get this guy we're gonna regret it.

I was more talking about taking the minutes not where they were. He can have all Neal's minutes and play them from a starting spot while Henderson moves to back up.

I'm all for that. It's funny because I think this is the one player in the draft who immediately makes the rest of the team better, if not measurably better.

With this little unassuming, dorky Canuck tucked away in the lineup maneuvering around the perimeter draining buckets and dishing easy assists, we'd leave fan bases wondering how the hell we are so good all of a sudden. All fans know about is Al Jefferson and Kemba Walker.

If we add this guy and a smart free agent signing there's no reason we can't snag the 3 seed from the Raptors.

I'd put Stauskas or CDR in the starting lineup and let each of them play about 24 minutes. Hendo should be playing about 20 minutes at SF with MKG getting about 28. Stauskas and MKG would get more minutes if/when they show improvement.

Henderson is a small forward in a shooting guard's body. CDR is better suited at SG then SF.

And what about that free agent treasure chest?

I think instead of one guy we get a few to upgrade the bench. Bring back Sessions and add a good backup PF for McRoberts that provides range of the bench.

Ideally we could add Hayward and use him with MKG and Nik to split up the 96 minutes at SG and SF with CDR getting a few here and there. I would want to move Henderson somehow though. I just don't think this is an option so improving our second unit with a few guys would be best.

You know I'm not much on the other free agents, but I'd be pretty happy if we find a way to trade Hendo and bring in a vet to upgrade him on the wing.

I know you like Deng. Putting him at SF and dropping Hendo would make this team much more dangerous.

I also want us to bring in a PF, whether through FA or at 24. We need someone to at the very least push McBob and Zeller, and maybe even to replace one of them.

I'm sold on Stauskas. Deadly shooter with quick release, suitably athletic, love his step back off the screen, great passer, quick thinker (catch and quickly drive, pass, or shoot). Perfect fit. Still very intrigued by Young and McBuckets, but Stauskas seems like a player designed specifically to fill the holes in our roster.

The only players that i could see potentially sliding to us at 9 are Gordon, Randle. I take Stauskas over Gordon, Saric, Harris, without a second thought, but would have to take a chance on Randle if he slides, and go hard after wing help in FA (with a look at Hairston at 24).

Going to spend some more time with Young video over the next week, but for now Stauskas if the top 6 or 7 stay true.

I'm just going ahead and preparing myself for Stauskas to be taken before 9. He's too perfect for our roster, I refuse to get attached.

But while excellent for other rosters, he's not perfect for them.

Most of the bottom feeders from last year need size/front court help - Embiid, Randle, Vonleh, Gordon, even Saric.

Then you've got the need for a PG - Exum, Smart.

And of course Wiggins and Parker.

Then your hype darkhorse guy - LaVine.

I've seen Stauskas anywhere from 10-13.

SAC seems to like him (they interviewed him at the combine) but they're offering that pick for trade - so they don't love him.

hopefully that team that trades with Sac really liked Harris or Gordon or one of them "dont want" guys

I've yet to see Stauskas projected any higher than 9 and most projections he's in the teens. I don't really expect him to move up much, though things can certainly change. But even though I feel he'd be the best fit for us, we are still in a great spot to get a good player even if he's gone.

I do wonder how much it would cost us to move up to 7 or 8 if we thought he was going before our pick.
