I liked every one of those moves. I like Williams and the years. Just don't like the price and the fact that I feel it means we are not pursuing Lance.

we still have plenty to get Lance

We have to get a backup PG. Unless we're trading Neal or Hendo, or the backup is signing to the vet min. I'm not getting my hopes up for us going after Lance.

Damn Straight!

Once we go over the cap the exceptions come into play also.

Then we land our backup PG imo.

Favors/Kanter is a mess. One needs to be traded- probably Kanter. Corbin was a garbage coach too.

Id take Kanter in a hot second.

We only get one exception - it's the room exception at like $2.8M or something. Fingers crossed that Nelson will be around at that price since he's already receiving $2M from Orlando after they cut him.

Does our MLE come into play once we use our cap?

The room exception is enough to land a decent vet imo.

He's due to be paid next season. So are Al, Kemba, and Biz. I don't know if it's worth it. 23 year old centers of Kanter's size and skill level get paid far too much and Kanter doesn't produce nearly enough to warrant it.

Nope. We forfeit all mid-level exceptions by signing a player with cap space.

I knew it was for teams without space, but the exact rule I did not know.

What does this mean for McBob's verbal agreement with Miami?

If they sign Deng?

You didn't see any mocking of any of those deals from me. They were all reasonable deals that I was cool with. This Marvin Williams dumb dumb nonsense tho? I'm not a fan of at all. Who mocked Tolliver for the vet min? Who mocked Warrick for McBob? I remember a lot of mocking of Jefferson when we signed him but not me.

McBob counts ~5.75M against their cap. He signed for the amount of the MLE. They didn't need the MLE now that they have cap space more than that value.

Its a slight overpay on a yearly basis but its only 2 years. Its not the best deal in the world, but we aren't going to knock every deal out of the ball park. He fits a need on our club.

Just wait until Marvin is a FA, im sure some of his haters now will want him back lol

They'll be calling for Cho's head when we let him walk!!!

I would happily turn into a crow and die if you see me backtrack and want Marvin Williams back when his contract is up. Lol but I'm serious.

I'll say I mocked the McBob trade, but I shut up about McBob after his first game. I remember mainly being pissed off that we didn't make any moves after thinking it was a forgone conclusion we'd have an exciting shakeup at the trade deadline. But when McBob proved he could play, I was thrilled. It was a low-risk trade that wasn't possible to be worked up about.

This is a different story. We're down to 12-13M in cap space. Lance can conceivably receive more than that. Even if Marvin turns out to be worth every penny of his deal, he isn't worth missing out on Lance. Not even close.

I figured it would turn to straight cap space.

I didn't even care for the McRoberts/Warrick exchange since at the time I thought it was a straight up trade for equal terrible talent. I knew what Tolliver would bring to the table so I liked it. I loved the Jefferson signing to death.

both Buford and Riley "reportedly" wanted this guy.

He would have got the MLE.

It's a slight overpay over 2 years.

he'll get 2.4m more than he would have anywhere else over that time span.

I doubt they would've gave him the full MLE. People reserve that for players that can actually play. They prolly would've offered him the mid level MLE.
