Honestly, the thing I dislike about Cho the most is that his number one passion seems to be food and not basketball. We need a true basketball guy who lives/eats/sleeps basketball and has experience being successful. Bonnell mentioned Jeff Bowers who was working on the original Hornets franchise that was excellent at making a lot out of a little. Mitch would be good too. This team just needs to find people who can finally hit on the draft. For as many years as this franchise has picked in the lottery, we have almost nothing to show for it. The list of draft mistakes is absurd - pre and post Cho. The trading is the only thing that's kept him here IMO and that was almost undone by the Plumlee trade.

So WH comes in, who should be PT worthy.

Graham also has shown himself to be PT worthy at PF.

Hm.

It also leads me to believe that the personnel decisions are primarily (entirely) on Cho. Now that I think of what Cliff likes in players and how Mitch has drafted, it sort of paints a pretty clear picture imo.
Eoghan wrote:Mitch is an upgrade to Cho but if Mitch couldn't overcome Jim Buss' meddling he sure as hell ain't going to overcome Jordan's so I don't know how much of an upgrade that'd be. Maybe Mitch has enough cache to let Jordan stay back and let Mitch do his job (ESPECIALLY DRAFTING).

What has Jordan done that was remotely on the level of the Buss' drama or having to appease Kobe? Mitch had to be front and center for all of that. The closest thing this organization has ever had to that level of distraction is when Jeremy Lin brought his fans with him. Everything else has just been fan manufactured nonsense. I remember when MJ was cheap and only picked his guys. I don't even know how people can say MJ picks anyone in the draft after this team drafted MKG over Beal and Barnes. And I'm pretty sure we've got plenty of money spent on role players too.

I don't think we need to 'blame' people as much as see guys just do better.

Outside of those Deng/Mozgov contracts, Mitch has a really good resume all things considered.

If we had an actual beat writer and a team in a major market like LA, we'd probably hear a lot more about the dysfunction of MJ's ownership. It's still well validated that nepotism runs rampant in the organization, like half the Higgins clan was employed at some point.

If Mitch would keep Clifford, Mitch can take the boat to **** off island with Cho.

:) :) Ok Rich You made a little trade bringing in Willy Hermangomez for Johnny O'Byant and 2 seconds.

NOW it's time to blow the rest of the team up

Pull ZICIC plug in Osman, then plug in Stone for O'Bryant and send it back to Cleveland

The rebuild is complete.

Cavs aka LeBron going hard after Walker right now. Really hope it doesn't happen but it says a lot about walkers character and competiteviness that LeBron is personally targeting him to try to fix the mess that the Cavs have become.

WAS, CLE, and MKE all in market for a defensive C. Feels like time is right to move Dwight.

Is this CLE deal really happening? Cho must've woken up today and said "what is the absolute worst trade I can make? Better call the Cavs." Hornets fans will be extinct by tomorrow night.

Can you hold the complaining until something actually happens. Getting a little tired.

I'm skeptical something gets done, but if a trade for Kemba to Cleveland does get done, be prepared for criticism that has nothing to do with the objective value of the trade. The crying from teams who want to sign LBJ this summer will be insufferable.

Maybe they decided to tank with the young guys and ship out Howard and/or Zeller

I could see a team give us a 1st for Howard, as crazy as that sounded 6 months ago

Getting even a late 1st for Howard would be amazing.

I feel like Jordan’s being a compulsive gambler will make him pull the trigger on a deal that fleeces his own team before the deadline. It’s like going all-in on a pair of threes. If any owner would do it, it’s him. If the rumors circling everywhere are true and it’s Kemba/Dwight for IT/Shumpert/JR/TT/Brooklyn pick, he’s furthered the narrative that like the Washington Generals. the Hornets solely exist to make money and help other teams get better.

Adding insult to injury, no way IT doesn’t walk after the year or request another trade and we end up losing kemba for absolutely nothing but slightly delayed cap relief and a future G-League player. And why would IT stay in Charlotte anyway? There’s no reason any NBA player not named “Batum” would want to stay here.

Honestly I'll be not shocked at all if this is the team's only move.

I'll be equally unshocked if they move Kemba.

It's that kind of year I guess.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I wonder if Batum knows all this is because of his horrendous contract. Better yet because he is just trash and isn't worth 1/3 the money were paying him.

I’m sure he knows and it’s the reason why he’s been trying to assert himself more ever since the Kemba trade rumors surfaced.
