Making the playoffs isn't exactly business as usual around here. And to be fair, we've only been swept in the playoffs once since we drafted Kemba.

The highest seed we can get is 6th IMO, which is where we are now. I dont see us catching the teams ahead of us whether we do a big trade or just patch some holes and I dont think we get swept, but i do think we will lose in the 1st round regardless. Probably like the last time where it went 7 games. And some of it just trying to manage our limited resources (basically just Miles, Monk and our 1st) and not end up in a spot where we have no assets and no kemba, which would be the apocalypse.

I might be in the minority, but trading Jeremy Lamb for a 2nd option to Kemba would make sense now, IMO. I love what Lamb has brought this year and always thought he could be this good, but his past says he is inconsistent and streaky. Combine that with the fact that he is a FA this offseason, I don't see how we can keep him and Kemba with our cap situation.

Yes, Lamb is exactly what Kemba needs beside him, but he's in a walk year, and wonder how much the former is producing at this clip because of it. Would WAS revisit a Beal trade now for Lamb + .... or maybe Porter? I love our UConn backcourt, but I don't see how we can extend both for the long haul and still add pieces where needed to fix this team's weaknesses.

I can be talked into moving Lamb but dammit I love how well he rebounds his position. I'm too old school. I do not want to be snookered by contract year Lamb though. The pain is too much from contract year Batum.

I also heard that the Mavs were looking to trade Dennis Smith Jr. who’s a hometown hero here in Charlotte.

Maybe a trade of Kemba and Marv for DSJ and Barnes.

I would make that trade but I doubt Dallas would give up Barnes unless we included something better than Marv. I expect Kemba to be traded by the trade deadline and hopefully we can get some young talent. There is no way Kupchak is going to pay Kemba the max with the current roster and Kemba will likely not take a hometown discount to stay. JMO

Front office needs to really diagnose the trade market. If we can make some deals to improve the roster, then go for it. If there are no improvements of any significance, then the front office needs to seriously consider a tear down. Kemba says all the right things, but he will receive a lot of peer pressure as he is recruited to join other stars. I mean with this crap roster who could blame him for putting himself in a better situation. He has spent countless hours improving his game and poured his heart and soul into this organization, and they still surround him with nothing.

Why did we trade him for Mozgov/Biyombo again?

It was a bonehead move. Biyombo is unplayable and he's on our books for next year when Dwight would've cleared. We got a couple 2nds out of it, but you're telling me we can't find a player in the 15 million dollar range that is better than some 2nd round picks(cough Lamb cough)?

Pairing him with Zeller and having Willy play spot minutes would be a decent C lineup.

I maintain that we need to get rid of Zeller and his long ass contract first and foremost, before Batum

Zeller offers nothing a replacement level player can offer. Thomas Bryant, for example, could have been had really cheap and he is a better and younger player with less injury history.

We need to get rid of him before the rest of the league finds out. Even if its a straight dump for an expiring (would be nice)

Not really mad about Zeller's contribution. He sets screens for Kemba and that's a great benefit. The problem is, who does Kemba kick it out to when he gets forced to pass? Batum is like a walking zombie and Marv's game is so limited that the defender can play him anyway he likes. Bridges isn't ready to take over the starting role, so find me a good starting SF or PF who can score 20+ everynight and my outlook for this season will change completely. On a related topic, I'd really like to tank for Zion.
