i think to be fair, we should base it on last year and if they were a starter, where they started. if they came off the bench, then their primary position.

Horford is 6'10", that doesn't qualify as "undersized" for a center. Smith is 6'9" and thus is not oversized for an SF either.

I think that players chosen for over/undersized MUST play the position which they are wrongly-sized for. So if we were to allow Shard the oversized SF, he can't play PF (at least not primarily).

Now, as for dividing positions... that's obviously pretty tough. NBA.com doesn't even really do it, they just have G/F/C. Shard hasn't played it since he left Seattle. Obviously the feel-o-meter says that Shard is an SF, which is what I made my ruling based on, but I realize that opens up a can of worms.

My personal inclination is to leave this fairly open. If the player has had extensive playing time at the position (however we want to define it), they can qualify, but in depth charts and during voting it must be made clear that their primary role will be at the position they are wrongly-sized for.

I was only joking. I know Smith is played as a PF - just like Lewis is played as a PF - and they both fit that mould size wise.

I agree that it should be based on what position they play at the start of a game otherwise it could get a little hairy.

I mean look at the Bobcats. Could you make a case for Crash to be an undersized PF or even Boris as an undersized C.

Sorry, I actually meant that when you "set your lineup" for this draft, you can't put a guy you chose as an oversized PG as your SG. Wallace the undersized PF I think is reasonable... but you have to start him at PF for your "team." Diaw the undersized C as well. You have to take the advantages and the problems with a guy who is unusual for his spot.

Well Slam just beat me to Jamal Crawford as a journeymen, so I'll take my knucklehead selection as none other than Earl Smith III better known as "JR". This is from a wikipedia article written about Earl's imprisonment.

"On June 30, 2009, Smith pled guilty to the June 2007 accident. Smith was initially sentenced to 90 days in a Monmouth County (N.J.) jail, but 60 of those days were suspended, on the condition that he completes 500 hours of community service."

Knucklehead (Been arrested) Earl (J.R) Smith III
European (No NCAA ball)
Non-European International (No NCAA ball)
Former College Senior
Allstar DERRICK ROSE
Non-Allstar RUDY GAY
Rookie from 2010 Draft Demarcus Cousins
2nd Rounder or Undrafted from 2009/10 Draft
White American
35+ as of July 8 (Free agency?), 2010
Journeyman (Played in games for 4+ teams)
No known/visible tattoos b]Blake Griffin[/b]
Beast of the Least (New Jersey or Minnesota player)
Never Been to Playoffs (Minimum 4 years pro)

No, it was from a car accident where someone died.

"On June 9, 2007, Smith and two passengers were injured in a car accident on Stagecoach Road in Millstone Township, New Jersey, when the SUV he was driving collided with another car.[12] Smith and a passenger, Andre Bell, were ejected from the vehicle at around 5:30 p.m. Smith's vehicle appeared to have gone through a stop sign and collided with the other car.[12] Smith was taken to Jersey Shore University Hospital.[12] Bell suffered serious head wounds[12] before being pronounced dead on the night of June 11.[13] Smith, the second passenger, and the driver of the other car did not suffer life-threatening injuries.[12] Smith and Bell were not wearing seatbelts at the time.[13]

In October 2008, a grand jury in Monmouth County, New Jersey declined to indict Smith on a vehicular manslaughter charge stemming from the accident. However, Smith is due in court in early January to face summonses stemming from the crash.[14]

On June 30, 2009, Smith pled guilty to the June 2007 accident. Smith was initially sentenced to 90 days in a Monmouth County (N.J.) jail, but 60 of those days were suspended, on the condition that he completes 500 hours of community service."

Got him here too!!

25th October 2007: Charged with assault, disturbing the peace and destruction of property after an incident in a nightclub. (Aren't they all?) Smith, absolutely battered, poured champagne on a woman, then apologised to her, then spat on her, then shoved her, and then tore her dress. Issued a summons on charges of assault, disturbing the peace, and destruction of private property, in lieu of being arrested. Received a three game suspension from the Nuggets.

How the heck do you batter a woman, pour champagne on her, APOLOGISE..... then continue the assault with spitting on her, pushing her and tearing her dress.
