I have a question Bobcat fans, just curious, how would you react to the following deal

Charlotte Trades: #9, Matt Caroll

Chicago Trades: #28, Charlotte #1 2012, Chicago #1 2012

I would really love to move up in a position to draft Burks and Charlotte's pick probably holds more value to Charlotte than anyone. I'm not opposed to adding players into that deal either, just trying to see how far that package is.

I keep wondering how much different Bitchsmack is to Tyrus?

I think Bismack is (right now poor man's version of) Ben Wallace with Kwame Brown offensive game

That would have us picking at 19 and 28 this year. This obviously would have to be agreed to during the draft, but if Kanter, Vesely, and Jonas are all gone then I would consider this move. I'm not really in love with Thompson, BB, Morris, Burks, or anyone else really projected at 9. I may take it and when we play the bulls next year have Kwame dive at Derrick Rose's ACL. j/k

BB seems to have a higher motor than TT. A good comment was made about this during the combine. I think it was Len Elmore, said TT had illusions of being a star in the NBA. He had the idea that he could do things that he really couldn't and it hurt him mentally when it didn't materialize. Guys like BB and Farried embrace the role of defensive stopper, rebounder, and energy guy. I believe this is true to a certain extent.

Who are you in love with at 28? I mean let's keep it real here. Our pick next year is lottery protected. We will have our pick next year unless we make the playoffs next year. Who do you think we will draft at 19 and 28 that will put us over the hump, and get us in? That would be the only way this trade would be worth it to us. Otherwise we are just trading a top ten lottery pick for two low first rounders. I don't care how deep the draft is next year that's not smart.

that would be a no-brainer. 1 lottery pick in so called weak draft for 3 first round picks (although 2 of the very late) and getting rid of Carroll's contract (on the other hand Carroll could actually help Bulls as a role player, with their problems at SG while here he has no future while we are rebuilding).

Of course having a lottery pick by this time of year builds up enthusiasm for upcoming draft so it would be harder to give up that pick now when you know all the prospects too well leaving us with 19th, 28th and 39th. But then again having our own 2012 pick back would mean we can trade any pick to get back into this year lottery pick area if needed which is actually better than keeping the 9th and waiting who slips. So yes, please.

Really? Reread the proposed trade carefully again. We are just giving up this year 9th for ou own lottery or mid round pick next year (suupposedly strong draft) + some incetives. With reamianing picks this year, we would just gamble and collect rotation players, won't get much better by that (probably, unless stumping on a real steal) which is fine during rebuilding process and 4 first round picks in next two years (assuming Portland one would fall to us and Chicago one is non protected at all as almost certain late first round one).

Chicago obviously wins that deal by getting Carroll.

I would do that deal. Getting our pick back prevents us from having to send it at some point (eventually that protection goes away). That's a #28 this year and a #25-30 next year plus we drop some salary.

Give us both #28 and #30 from this draft along with the 2012 ones, and I'd be happier. They can keep #44 from this year.

I prefer their next year pick that 30th in this draft. Relative strenght of these drafts, new CBA - new scales of rookies contracts (probably), being in a lottery next year (probably), probably better pick than 30th anyway. They surely want send us 4 first round picks for one back (and Carroll).

Hye, I want it ALL! Both #28 and #30 from 2011, our 2012 1st and their 2012 1st. That's all. :-)

I would do the proposed trade in a heartbeat! That would be a great deal for Charlotte. We give up a pick this year in a weak draft and gain not only a pick this year, but two picks next year in a lot deeper draft AND we dump Carroll. Only issue with the trade is the fact that Chicago is over the cap and would have to give up just as much salary as they take in.

You guys are tripping. I could see where you are coming from if we were not going to have our pick next year. We will. I could see your point if Chicago wasn't one of the best teams in the league, so their pick would be be high. They are so it's not. I could see your point if it was realistic that next year's draft was going to be so deep that you could get lottery talent at the bottom of the first round. It's not. Let's look at some of the deepest drafts in nba history. 1984- The draft that produced Olajuwan, Jordan, and company. Who was the 30th pick? The world famous Steve Burttlona! Let's come up to this decade, and explore the Lebron/ Wade draft. Who was #30? That future hall of famer Macej Lampe! No way we can get talent that matches the calibre of those two superstars at nine in this draft! Come on guys. Open your eyes this trade is nothing but smoke and mirrors.

Huh? It is basically trading out of this year draft for pick in next year draft and some throw-ins. Both lottery ones. Few weak ago peiople here desperately wanted trade like this fering there are no takers of this year draft picks as it is considered very weak. There is more - without this year lotterypick playing for us next year (moot in case of lockout but still) we should be a tad worse than other way getting more pingpong balls; and with new rules it will be probably beneficail to our cap to sign a lottery pick player based on future rookie scales rather than on current ones.

I know we would most probably get our pick next year anyway but hits way it is a sure thing and we would still owing that pick to Bulls without that trade, hopefully we will beocme play off team soon enough to prent giving up top 5 or something pick one day.

I don't care who we could get with 30th pick this year and projected late pick next year. Those are still ways to get nice bench players who could turn out to be keepers.

This trade would only postpone things a bit getting us more flexibility (capwise, pick trade wise) and better/more picks to the future.

Trade:

Bobcats Pick 9 & Pick 19 + T2 FOR Cleveland Pick #4

Then We Draft
#4: Enes Kanter: He would be our franchise player for the next decade, a tremendous athlete who never stops going, his work ethc is un-questionable on and off the court, and he is already experienced.
or (if Available Derrick Williams or even Kemba Walker)
#39: Nolan Smith (if Available)
or Reggie Jackson
-------------------------- OR ---------------- (No Trades)

# 9: Alec Burks: Simply has to much talent to pass on, he can pass well, score well, and is a good sized SG and despite Hendo's emergence as a great player, he could/should develop into an even better player.
-or-
Bismack Boyumbo: We need a Center that will be with the club for the next decade, Boyumbo is a young player with HUGE potential whose Defensive fundementals are sound. Couple that with his apparent maturity and Mutumbo like behavior he could be great!
-or-
PG Brandon Knight (if hes still on the board): This would be a golden grab, heck if we got him I would immediately trade away Augustin to acquire a big....

#19: Darius Morris (PG Mich): This guy is a GREAT Athlete, and standing at 6'5 he has a huge size advantage, couple that in with his polished shot, and great passing he could start OVER Augustin immediately.... He is the guy that I feel is overlooked the most...
or
Josh Selby: This guy had a poor season, notably because he will only suceed if a team gives him a chance to be their PREMIER scorer, something that Kansas simply refused to do. However with Silas in as coach he could explode on to the scene for the Bobcats, after all there is no denying that he has world class explosiveness and athleticism coupled with overall great scoring ability. He could prove to be one of the best players, if not the best of the class...

pick #39: Kieth Benson: This young man is athletic and a great rebounder. Also in College despite seemingly holding back some he stll managed to get at least 2.5 blocks a game in every year except his freshmen year, and during his Junior and senior years he tallied 3.3 and 3.6 blocks a game.... He could develop into a starter pretty quickly if motivated properly...

The Chicago trade is dumb. We gain nothing other than a few late first round picks. We might suck more next year than this year, we WILL have that pick unless a CP3 type trade happens, and even then we'll have to give up so much we will still be lotto bound for the 2012 draft. I would consider it if we were getting a quality piece in return, like Taj Gibson for example. Why don't we just give them T2 back in exchange for our pick back, lol.

trade:
DJ. Augustin + S. Jax + 8th pick + 19th pick + 39th pick

Kemba shot 40.3% from the floor last year and 42.8% from the floor this year (including 33.9 and 33.3% from three). He's a volume scorer (14.6ppg on 11.1 shots and 23.5ppg on 18 shots). Just like Ford and Felton, he has a over inflated opinion of his own abilities. People love him because of his swagger and leadership and warrior like approach - just like Ford (before he became a bitter team cancer) and just like Felton. Because of those traits, some people overlook his (their) downfalls.

But all of that is just my opinion of course. But take a look at the comparisons:
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/basketball/players/81675
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/pr ... yerId=7970
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/371 ... oEm2fQPKB4
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/pr ... erId=11868
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/393 ... oEm2ccPaB4

End of the day though, it runs wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy deeper than just stats. It's the way they all play, the way they all carry themselves - it's just who they are.

I just think we need someone who can be a big scorer. We've got our defensive wing (Hendo) so a scoring guard is fine with me. Especially if they can also play the point.

Problem there is that Kemba isn't a great PG and with Hendo not a ball mover and Jax/Diaw no doubt not in our long term plans having our two guards as ball stoppers could be a problem.

If we don't make any deals, then the smart move is to go with the BPA no matter of the position. Whoever is ranked highest by everyone else, just pick that guy.

Now this I 100% agree with.

Well now I REALLY want to draft Kemba somehow. We no longer have a player of internet message board controversy on our roster... Kemba is it!!! Put me on the Kemba side of the fence, he's going to be one of the top 3-4 guys of this draft when it's all said and done.

Also, I really don't get the TJ and Felton comparisons at all. What you're saying is that they feel they are better than they are, so they take a lot of shots and try to take over at the end of games. Everytime I was checking in on UCONN at least during the tourney and what not he was hitting clutch shots and game winners. I'll take 42% shooting if he can make the clutch shots. The reason he was able to make those shots is because he has the crossover and side step to create his own shot. He also doesn't need to be set to shoot well (like TJ and Felton).

I hear Iverson come up in many comparisons to Kemba. Iverson was a 6ft SG who came into the draft as a PG. Kemba was able to do it in college, he was a scorer. 23ppg in a tough conference is impressive, Felton and TJ averaged about half that in their best college years it looks like.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/pla ... sal01.html

If we're comparing him to other players stat lines, doesn't it seem closer to that than TJ or Felton?

I'm not saying he's the end all be all, but if he's there at #9 no f'n way does he fall past us and I'm pretty damn happy we ended up with a top 5 pick at #9. Likewise, if we dealt #9 and #19 who likely will be a bust or non-impact player to get him - I'm still pretty damn happy.

All this being said, I would be just as happy with Brandon Knight (who won't fall to us or really get past Utah IMO) or Kanter.
