His putback dunk last night was #1 on sportscenters top 10. He's actually developing quicker than I thought he would. Killing it lately.

major props to the Swarm development crew, he looks playable to me
they really filtered a lot of the crap out of his game. just needs to add about 20lb of mass and watch that Jarrett Allen tape on repeat

Put him on Zion's diet and Dwight's shoulder workouts and let him be in the rotation next year.

Are we trying to give him a diabetic foot ulcer?

lol, that was good

I will settle for him pumping up to something like serge ibaka size, he had the same measurements coming in 6"10" 220ish. Now listed at 235.

I think him playing with a purpose is the biggest step so far. not that he was aimless before, but he would just kind of get lost in the game. now he's focusing on a few things offensively and defensively.

still rough around the edges, but on the right track! his 3pt stroke is still mad inconsistent, but I think it already looks better than at Texas.

Did this actually almost happen? Why?

The Charlotte Hornets and San Antonio Spurs have discussed a possible trade of PJ Washington, Kai Jones, and the inclusion of a first-round draft pick for Jakob Poeltl, league sources told HoopsHype.

Sounds like it was what San Antonio asked for and we obviously saw that as a bad deal and said no thanks.

It says the hang-up was the Spurs wanting an FRP. Not Kai. Just curious.

I don't believe it to begin with. None of it.

I know this is dumb because its 1 minute of game time at the end of the game but:

https://go.nba.com/xcooy

This catch and dunk is a turnover in the preseason/summer league. He already looks much more basketball fluid in just half a season.

As many of you know I was against this pick and thought of Jones as a "Wiseman-Lite" so I'm willing to eat crow if he progresses well at this rate. Hopefully he really nails it on defense because rim protection to go with this skillset is what we need.

I agree he needs minutes. Just let him bang down low and catch lobs.

He has that same aggressive mindset that Trez has. That same “I’m going to dunk everything” approach.

Trez might be a really good mentor to him.

But imagine Trez, if Trez also had really quick feet and could guard out on the perimeter, blocked shots, could handle the ball a little, could shoot the 3 a little and was 4” taller (so 6’10”-7’0”) and only just turned 21 a week or so ago.

Yet we almost threw him in as filler in a trade 2 days ago...

Trading Kai is the equivalent of trading 2 1sts. Kai himself, and we traded a future 1st to draft him. So I highly doubt we actually considered trading him.

The important thing from that clip is that he went straight up to dunk. He used to pump-fake a ton and end up stuck under the rim.

That "report" didn't add up.

I call b.s. on it.

If reports that the Pacers were willing to deal Myles Turner for one young player and a first, or for 2 firsts, then I have a really hard time believing anybody would trade 2 young players and a first for a lesser player.

Yeah I think it's the part where we almost did that

Guessing that was SAS's asking price, not something we were seriously considering
