Brunson got player of the week over him. Not surprised.

Lamelo has averaged 5.5 points, 1.3 assists and 2.5 rebounds more than Brunson over the past week too.

This franchise simply does not get a fair shake of things.

I am sure us winning just 1 of those games matters

Player of the week is usually a stat padding award and not usually that incumbent on winning.

I'm not too fussed about player of the week. If Melo keeps this up and gets passed over for the all-star game that would be the sort of BS I'd be upset about.

NBA media is wild....

Maxey has had a good month to start this season and now he apparently goes 3 in a 2020 NBA draft redraft.

Why? Because he is teammates with Embiid?!?

https://www.sportingnews.com/au/nba/news/nba-draft-2020-redraft-tyrese-haliburton-tyrese-maxey/6d816bd280693986d9f9555b

1. Edwards
2. Haliburton
3. Maxey
4. Ball

"Nobody from the 2020 NBA Draft got out to as fast of a start as Ball. Not only was he named Rookie of the Year, but he was the first member of the class to earn an All-Star selection. Only Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Magic Johnson became All-Stars at a younger age than Ball.

Unfortunately, Ball's third season was derailed by injuries. He's putting up big numbers to start his fourth season, but it continues to be a struggle for the Hornets. That's not all Ball's fault, of course, but his shot selection can be questionable at times, and his effort defensively comes and goes.

Here's to hoping Charlotte can turn it around sooner rather than later because Ball has shown that he can be one of the league's more electrifying players."

How do these guys get jobs seriously.

Floopymoose on the GB, who I have respect for posted on there that he'd still draft Wiseman over Lamelo based on Lamelos contract blah blah.

I just.... that's just wild. I can't even begin there.

Draymond/Poole really exposed how these people are more or less a creepy cult at this point. They will never admit a mistake, accept a criticism. They'll twist their brains around to justify any little thing and think they are right because 4 rings. When it's obvious to everyone else they just made a few good draft picks 15 years ago, got ridiculously lucky with the cap spike, and have been pretty bad to average with every other transaction since then. They'll be back in the gutter soon enough

Who cares melo going to GSW could very well have killed his career. Those vets wouldn’t stand for his turnovers or give him a chance to develop.

Yeah probably would have punched him during a practice like a psycho as well. Good point.

GS fans practically think they invented basketball. While in reality, they're good because they have a generational player. If they didn't have Steph, they'd just be another team without a superstar.

Don't think this injury has a lot to do with Lamelo's prior injury history. A majority of athletes are gonna get seriously hurt when a 250 pound man crashes into their leg.

Regardless, losing Melo completely deflates any excitement I had this season. That tear he was on felt like the first time we have had a legitimate superstar. I kept on asking myself if this was how mavs fans felt when they first got Luka.

Even if this injury is minor, we gonna take extra precautions in bringing him back considering his history and importance for our franchise l. If he misses anymore then 10 games, then the season is done.

Edit: just read that we only have 3 games in 2 weeks thanks to the tournament shenanigans. If the injury is not a huge deal, then he has a good amount of time to get right.
Your Charlotte Hornets! We’ll eventually get something right;right?

I expressed serious concern for Melo’s long term prospects last year after the multiple ankle injuries. Ankles become weaker with repetitive injury. His incident yesterday looked like a typical ankle turn but his pain and inability to walk on it is troubling.

If he can’t wear braces he must do more than tape up. Maybe an ortho can create a custom brace that will support without feeling like it’s cutting into him.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

There is no way an NBA player making millions of dollars can’t have a brace made that gives him support while not being painful. What is this 1970?

The franchise should have insisted, frankly.

As a fat amateur athlete I can confirm after years of badly spraining my ankles, strapping is usually good enough. If you don’t land properly, which I believed happened in this case, something is going to bend wrong

x-ray negative per spencer, so it's not broken again. MRI apparently today.
melo hasn't been wearing ankle braces, not sure if that would have prevented anything

Return to Charlotte Hornets
