Looks like micic is glued to the bench
Either Coach Lee is letting him rest during preseason, or he's about to get passed in the rotation

Still looking solid. Lots of effort on defense and everyone gets to jack 3s to their hearts content.

Miller single-handedly got the Hornets back into the game with that awesome 3rd quarter.

Feels good when you start hitting on these draft picks. If we can get Mark healthy we might be looking at the playoffs this season.

Not my favorite that we couldn't really get separation from NYK's reserves but effort will looks pretty good.

Saw on Twitter that Miles didn't start the second (I'm watching but didn't notice) and looks like he might have tweaked his leg. Doesn't seem serious.

The only thing about preseason that matters is getting through it without major injury

No green, Cody or Mark equals constant rim pressure.
Nick is just so limited. Pray Mark is healthy.
Ts can shoot. Everything else needs a lit of work.
Miller, ball, miles with a combined ZERO FT attempts
Micic dnp. Doghouse or rest?

They seem to be spamming 3's in the preseason. LaMelo and Miller can hit them enough where it works. I have no qualms about them not going to the rim for contact/fouls in the pre-season. Remain healthy and in one piece please. In fact, rest everyone against the Pacers.

But what is very evident is that we are screwed again if Nick is playing big mins. We'll be way too dependent on LaMelo or Miller getting hot from 3. He simply cannot do the basics like setting screens and is late to recognize where he needs to be on both ends. He survives just on his physicality and offensive rebounding. That's it, that's all he brings. Diabete looked more solid at C IMO. Taj was a mess last night for some reason. We NEED Mark Williams badly.

Tijane is a pleasant surprise. He finally showed a move to the paint that he converted. The 3pt shooting is really nice but he will need to do more to get mins. Either way, it's exceeded what I thought he'd be able to do this soon.

I'm so excited about Tre Mann, man. Dude has all of the moves, swagger and the ball just keeps moving when he's in there. I like the LaMelo/Mann combo mins too. He might be a 6th man of the year contender this season if he's coming off the bench. And I think it's smart to have him come off the bench since we will need that type of scoring/pressure with our second unit. The big question is, can he just be PG2 instead of Micic - who is the other weak link in the main rotation.

Great points by both Rich and Fats. Excited by the possibilities but realizing our defense will be so limited if we cannot get Mark in there regularly for major minutes. Green will help us on D and in sneaky other ways offensively. Tre Mann is awesome and will shine in his roles. The THREE M-IGOS…Melo, Miller and Miles, must get blended and emboldened to attack the basket more. Without that we are relying on hitting threes and getting out on the break to generate our offense. Mark can also help this (I hope). Reserves have some strengths with Mann, GW and company bringing enough to keep us in games. Hopefully Salaun is contributing some eventually, but TS needs playing time in Greensboro to gain speed in his development.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

For kicks just checked to see how many 3s Melo is taking in preseason per 36, and it's 17.4  Shooting at 42.4% too, which is nuts on that sort of volume.

Miller is shooting 13.0 per 36 at 44.4%, also nuts.

It's not sustainable, however it is really promising and I think it's a product of initiating and executing the offense quickly as opposed to the last two seasons where we dribble until the clock is about to expire.

But it's fine because while the above likely isn't sustainable, let's say ~37-38% is that means we can maintain offensive pace/efficiency with more drives to the basket and Miller remembering he has a killer mid range game to lean on too.

1 3PA in every 2.07 minutes played is absolutely hilarious

even Miller's rate is like a fraction of a percentage point behind 2021 Steph's all time record of a three attempted every 2.71 minutes played.

obviously neither of those is remotely sustainable, let alone the percentage they're shooting. but it would be nice to dream of us having our own splash brothers

I like how they traded the key veterans that were supposed to be leaders on this team for "lesser" players and swapped out Clifford for a rookie head coach and now the team looks infinitely better and has a way better outlook. The previous regime had this team built around dead weight.

Read on Twitter

Funny to include Micic in the post given his lack of PT and generally poor performance so far in preseason.

If Lee is even a mediocre head coach, that is by far the biggest difference between last year and this one.
