We threw the max at Brook Lopez. Who would you rather have?

It's not a case of everybody going "ermahgerd Pekovic!!!!"

It's woefully obvious we need a competent big. Pekovic is probably the most desirable (possible) choice on the market and provides much of what we desperately need. So it's understandable that he's the guy we'd gravitate to.

Is he worth the max or near max? In the current NBA climate where guys like Hibbert, Lopez, etc get huge deals, yes.

Im not so sure. Id rather just slightly overpay for Hickson and call it a day.

Easy to say that without knowing how much it'd take to get either guy

Hickson would really help if we go small and don't even get the Blazers pick.

Mike Dunleavy anyone?

We went after him hard last time he was available which was 2011(?)

Which other the radar players could help us? I really like Randy Foye also.

I like Ivan Johnson from the Hawks. He's a better version of Adrien and he sure as hell isn't afraid to knock someone on their ass. We lack a true "mean player".

We could/should be looking at every position aside PG and SF (depending on free agency/draft SG)

Cheap (realistic) under the radar free agents at position of need.

Ronnie Brewer /SF
Chris Douglas-Roberts /SF
Josh Selby /PG

SF
Martell Webster /SG
Mike Dunleavy /SG
Damian Wilkins
Corey Brewer /SG
Roger Mason Jr. /SG
Demarre Carroll

PF
(Josh McRoberts*)
Antawn Jamison /SF
Brandan Wright

Anybody got ESPN insider??? Stupid ESPN ... wondering if any Bobcats made their Top 30 Free Agents list. Seen they got Josh Smith at 14 mil per year. CP3 and DHoward were max i think.

From that list alone, I'd re-sign Henderson, McBob, then sign Morrow and Wright or Ivan The Terrible. I'm up in the air about Mullens. I have no idea what I want to do with him.

That's what I have been trying to tell you guys. In a year when we are one of the teams with the most capspace there are a lot of players out there better than Hendo. His best option really is to be humble and work something out with us unless he doesn't mind signing for less like Felton and Augustine did.

Horrible list though in all honesty.

I really like Dorell Wright.

Say after the Hendo QO and not extending it to Byron, we will have 12-14m abouts in cap.

Mike Dunleavy-2 years 8 million, + third year Team Option
Dorell Wright-2 years 7 million, + third year Team Option
Brandan Wright- 4 years 12 million, fourth year Team Option
Josh McRoberts- 4 years 14 million, fourth year Team Option

I really want us to keep McRoberts but only on about 3-4m for 3-4 years, Brandan Wright would be very productive for us and may even start over McBob(?)

Kemba/Sessions
Henderson/Dunleavy/Taylor
Gilchrist/D.Wright/Taylor
McRoberts/B.Wright
Biyombo/B.Wright

^Not real crazy about using all our space next season on marginal players. Maybe some 1-year deals or something, but if we're gonna spend all of it I'd prefer more quality, less quantity. That may mean waiting until next season to do so, but that may be best in the long run.

Excellent point but I think that we plan on being as bad as we can possibly be next season again and any of the big name free agents might land us the #6 pick instead of the top three pick we covet.

As sad as it sounds if I could land one FA realistically this offseason it would be Mike Dunleavy.

Robin Lopez IMO has shown well in NOLA this season. Hickson is productive & seems to be over whatever it was that got him exiled from Cleveland & Sacramento- the same can be said for Blatche.

I'd personally go for the lesser name players over big money guys like Al & Millsap.

Is Robin Lopez even a free agent this year? He's got a nice 3 yr/4.8mln contract that I think is non/guaranteed, but it's hard to see NOLA walking away from that. Unlike his brother, RLo actually plays defense and rebounds. Plus he's super goofy, which is always fun to have on your team. But I'd count on him staying with the Pelicans.
