Like I'm not some big Batum fan. I think there is a lot of truth to the argument that Kemba has been successful independently of Batum, although I do think it's also been proven that Kemba is at his best when he spends a lot of time off ball.

I just think there is enough blame to go around with this team that putting it all on Batum (especially if we're just whining about rumors) is off the mark.

I know, let's declare him a bust and his contract an albatross after less than half a season of poor play after coming back from rehabbing an elbow tear.

Ya sounds good but does that make us any better? Are we going to pItty him now because he got hurt? We were better off without him and Lamb was on the verge of a breakout season.

If he's hurt, then he needs to sit - not drag the team down then throw cheap shots at other players because he feels he's not getting the ball enough.

Also his elbow has nothing to do with his feet not being able to keep up with anyone who actually intends to get open and score. I'm usually fine with guys taking time off. MKG stayed hurt forever and its obvious that he's still not 100% because he shies away from contact he would've lept headfirst into because his two shoulder surgeries and his game has suffered because of it. Batum has too many issues on the court for it to be pinned solely on the elbow. Even if you completely take his shooting off the table, that still leaves the massive drop off in passing, inability to drive past anyone, bad defense, and clutch turnovers every night.

Kemba is a animal and Batum has 0% anything to do with his success. To try to imply that Batum is the reason Walker is what he is beyond a joke and a disrespect to Kembas work ethic

I still don't understand why you care about trade rumors.

Trade rumors including our franchise player which would result in another rebuilding process.
Ya that's something I care about.

We can not trade Kemba.

There is just no team in the league that will give up in value what he is worth to us. The fact that he would more than likely resign here just makes him worth even more to us beyond this year and the next.

We will be tight on space if we keep Batum, but Dwight's contract being expiring next season will soften the blow of giving Kemba his max.

Guys I would look to trade are MKG, Marvin, or Zeller.
The Charlotte Hornets will win their first round series against the Boston Celtics in the 2021 Playoffs

Ya that's something I care about.

Good thing you cheer for a small market team then.

Trade rumors are part of NBA life and mean nothing, especially for a team like ours that never leaks anything that it doesn't want leaked.

We just went through a 8 year plus rebuilding process and are close to starting the process all over again because of Batums contact.

What that has to do with being a fan of a small or big market team is beyond me. Similar to most things you say I just can't seem to understand the reasoning behind it

The second sentence was the reasoning.

I know that he's hurt but what kind of realistic moving around of players would we have to do to trade for Jeremy Lin back and stay out of tax penalty land? I'm theoretically speaking (asking), I'm not trying to stir up a global mess but Brooklyn has a lot of guards and I'm just trying to think of other ways we could go than just "blowing the team up."

lin has po this summer for 12.5. mkg or marv would work $wise, assuming lin would opt in. nets have a logjam on perimeter - russell, dinwiddie, lavert, crabbe, stauskas & maybe lin.

But who knows what he looks like coming back after that injury. I would definitely not trade anything of real value to get him at this point until we know what he looks like upon return.

Thanks. Good points on the why not to do it. I'm sure they'd love to have a first to replace the old GM theres stupidity. If he were healthy I'd include a first for him but not now. It's a shame on the timing.
