Re: Center Options
I'd like Allen if I had to choose turner 2nd. Porzingis is washed early. I had high hopes for him but he can't stay on the court.

Re: Center Options
It would be hilarious if Cleveland ended up trading a pick and taking on salary for Allen only to lose him in free agency.

Re: Center Options
Allen would be a great fit for us. No idea what Cleveland is doing though.

Re: Center Options
Some team is going to offer Allen heaps just because they know Cleveland will match and be forced to overpay over his market value.

I think I’d prefer Bamba over Allen.
Bamba has a lot of what Allen has, but Bamba has a long range jumper as well.

Re: Center Options
This is how I see things going.
First domino to fall will be Allan signing a big deal with someone and then Cleveland matching (no point in this being us).
That will set the market for Richaun Holmes deal, and he will be next piece to fall.
After that I think a bunch of guys like Theis, Noel, Harrell will get offers for MLE but they will hold out to see any team offers them more than 10, which I doubt.
Then the trade market for Turner, KP and Nurkic will take place.
Then another round of bargain centers for like 1 year 3 million dollar deals like Zeller, Howard, McGee, Robin Lopez etc...
Finally if you strike out on all that you will see the pieces nobody is excited to sign like Drummond, Kanter and Cousins.

I think both are equally un-gettable, but I agree on Bamba over Allen. You'd have to trade for Bamba, which Orlando is unlikely to do. Allen can be signed, but is restricted so the offer has to be overly large.
I prefer to keep Zeller on a reasonable deal, sign Holmes and Giles and continue to develop Richards and Carey. This only works if the Hornets add a wing defender worth something. I'm intrigued with Denzel Valentine and, perhaps, Justice Winslow if Memphis declines their club option (possible due to injury history). I also really like Doug McDermott as a value reserve.

Hornets considering Porzingis
?s=21
I don’t see how he fits at all, especially WITH Hayward. Maybe if this was 2017
One source stated that the Hornets are very intrigued by the possibility of adding Porzingis. They want to add a big man alongside LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier. Porzingis would not bring the defensive presence that they would like, but he would add more offensive firepower and more star power in general.

Re: Hornets considering Porzingis
If, when he was tearing it up in NYC, someone from the future said he'd play for us one day. I would've been very happy.
Now? Don't want him. Injury prone and expensive. I'd go after Lauri Markannan (or however you spell it) first. At least his ego isn't as big.

Re: Center Options
How are we paying Porzingis $30M until 2024 AND keeping/extending Terry so they get to play together? Hayward straight up for Porzingis? Not sure I buy that rumor given the rationale.

Re: Center Options
Hayward would have to be going out in a Porzingis trade, otherwise you'd have to pay them both 67.5 million in 2024. Which could be a disaster considering their injury history. KP's value has dropped so much, Dallas would have to add a lot more to the deal. Something like Brunson, Josh Green, and/or their 2022 FRP.

Re: Center Options
I don't believe this at all. Doesn't check the box on what JB has said he wants, and honestly isn't much if any for an upgrade over PJ when it comes to run protection. Money and fit don't make sense.
We don't primarily need offensive firepower or star power, we need defensive presence at the 5 spot.

Re: Center Options
I mean I definitely think we’ll need to find another star player / high level scorer to pair with LaMelo in the long term. But that obviously isn’t KP and it doesn’t really need to be addressed this offseason

Re: Center Options
"Star power" is just a meaningless thing to pursue. Sure we need elite talent, but saying we need "star power" is like saying we need PR help. We just need talent.

A team could sign Kanye West and they’d be adding star power

Re: Center Options
Could we in theory, do a sign-and-trade of Malik monk for kristaps porzingis, with the balance of the difference in salaries being absorbed into our cap space? Dallas would get another dynamic ball handler, which they desperately need, as well as up to 15-20 million in cap relief.

Re: Center Options
No idea but i have zero desire to have both Hayward and KP on the same roster. They finally have a relatively clean salary book. I see no reason to tank that for two expensive, injury prone guys

Re: Center Options
It would be great to add Myles Turner, but it would almost certainly cost us some quality depth unless we're moving Hayward. As we saw last season we don't have enough rotation worthy players. It's preferable to sign someone in free agency and keep drafting/developing well.

I like the idea of Porzingis on the Hornets ... provided they don't overpay in trade. I suspect that the guy's mobility will be better next season than it was this one.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody
