Re: Mann Up: The Tre Mann thread
He was really fun to watch in his limited action and the gigantic uniform/general Allen Iverson style homage are delightful, so I'm glad he's back. Seems like a good contract to me, but others are better at evaluating that than I am.

Love it but I've now lost count of all of the guards on this team.

Re: Mann Up: The Tre Mann thread
There is no spot for NSJ on this team.
From what I watched this past season Lee really does seem to like Green though. He's a tough watch but I guess they can get by with him scoring 2-4 PPG with all the offense they will be getting from the guard position now.

Re: Mann Up: The Tre Mann thread
We have about 18 players under contract (including the rookies) so we have to make a consolidation trade or two.
Still not sure how our guard rotation is meant to work defensively either.

Re: Mann Up: The Tre Mann thread
So with team rosters getting filled up rapidly where the heck will we send a boatload of guards to get back a center? Proposals from our resident brain trust PLEASE!
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Peterson said they were working on a deal, that he didn't see a reason why it wouldn't get done. Why would we ever doubt him?

Oh right.
BTW I’m happy to get Tre back!
Since they were working on this deal he must have know it was going down, so that’s why he’s added multiple guards on this team.
I’d almost swear he was constructing a surprise trade of Melo. Where does Sexton play? Is he a starter or a backup to Melo? But wait…Tre is the backup…right?

Guards rule the league, right?
I think Tre backs up Melo and Sexton (if he's not moved on to another team) will spell Kon. But the main value, to me, is situational flexibility. Melo and Kon for shooting, with Sexton and Mann providing rim pressure.

Someone's gotta teach that boy how to drive left.
But glad to have him back.

Same. Good deal. I'm glad they didn't let him walk. The overall talent level is looking better but they desperately need a consolidation trade.

I wonder if the last year is an option. This seems like a pretty team friendly deal on the surface and I wouldn't be surprised if there is a player option for year 3.

I would love if we had an options or a non-guaranteed. That back injury terrifies me

I think it makes most sense to couple the rim pressure with the shooting.
LaMelo - Sexton start.
Mann - Knueppel back up.
Knueppel should not be asked to learn NBA defense as a rookie vs. starting units.
I don't want to burn two rim attackers on one court. LaMelo and Kon balance them off ball much better.
LaMelo can always catch a breath while playing alongside any of them, really - Sexton, Mann, Kon.
Great balance of shot creation in all forms and all 4 guards can create their own shot or create for teammates.
Our offense with Miller and Miles should surprise.
Potentially the top 5 options are pretty dynamic.
