Thanks e4.

Should I be rooting for Algeria or Slovenia. If there's a Goran Dragic of soccer, the Slovenians will win my heart...

germany vs australia will be great.

i would love watching ghana today if essien was playing. at least ivanovic is playing for serbia.

too bad slovenia and algeria didnt tie. that would have been ideal i think. our qualification hopes will come down to the slovenia match, assuming we dont crap our pants vs algeria.

I fully expect 65-80% of the Australian adult population to be drunk by 7:30am Monday morning due to the time difference.

I can't believe I woke up early to see Slovenia-Algeria, what a terrible game. The good news is that both teams look terrible, Slovenia slightly less so. I was worried that we would lose to England, tie Slovenia and then Slovenia would get a result in their last game against an already qualified England and knock us out. Fortunately the point we got vs. England eliminates that scenario, England will definitely be playing for a win in their last game.

New things I now hate.

Ketchup, Oktoberfest, BMW's, Dirk Nowitzki, Dachshunds, Beethoven, Hogan’s Heroes, bogus red cards on Tim Cahill and the FIFA 2010 World Cup.

Nice win for us.

Could've even been a couple goals more, but it's good when there are some things to work on, even though you win.

BTW: What kind of formation did the Aussies play with?
4-6-0?
I know you want to be solid on defense, especially against an opponent like Germany, but you've got to do something on offense if you want to gain at least a point.

Ketchup is 100% 'merican!!

I thought the refs were cutting back on the soft straight Reds in this tournament, I guess those refs didn't get the memo. How many games does Cahill miss now? 1 or 2?

Oh my god Germany played incredibly against the Aussies. What a show on offense, if I were German I'd be buying an Ozil jersey RIGHT NOW.

The rest of the tourney has been a little blah so far, with the exception of the USA-England game which was interesting purely because I am American. Watching it with a big crowd of rowdy fans was really awesome, and I completely agree with this headline:

An awful mistake by Green, but it's not as if the US didn't produce some chances. Admittedly it did require an excellent outing from Howard to keep it to the one goal, England could have easily punched in another one or two with a lesser keeper.

Bad news that Slovenia won though, now it puts a lot of pressure on this Friday.

The German team plays incredibly well. They could have easily scored one or two more goals, I am really impressed.

I just can't wait until Brazil-Portugal, it's THE match of the first round.

Heinz baby. Heinz.

I'm 99.9% sure it's just the one, but considering Ghana won our next game is SUPER important.

Supposedly the Aussies stacked the back line in order to counter the German offense. Still waiting to reap the rewards of that little tactic. The Germans seemed to break from the midfield and into the open spaces of their forward line time and time again.

The pin point timing was amazing though - both by the breaking player and his team mate getting him the ball. Apart from it being against the Aussies, it was beautiful to watch.

The Aussies tried it several times but we seemed to always put the ball long giving the charging player no hope in hell of getting to it.

The Germans just looked THAT much faster.

If I were German I'd be buying an Ozil jersey RIGHT NOW.

As far as German jersey's go, PODOLSKI is the one I would want to rock.

Firstly because I thought he was the most damaging German on the pitch and secondly because my wife after seeing him for the 1st time today thinks he is delicious.

I tried to convince her he was a distant relative to Hitler, but she wouldn't buy it.

For real, you don't know what a Daschund is?

Hogan's Heroes was a TV series from the 60s about American POWs... it was a comedy... it's kind of hard to explain.
