Anything I should be aware of before I do the upgrade?

I had to system restore after doing mine because a Samsung driver shat itself and sent my computer into a reboot loop. But it retained all my documents and programs so not really an issue.

My co-worker's workstation has 3 HP monitors and has minor issues on the third monitor after the Win 10 upgrade because the driver doesn't like it.

Some people say that they've had programs removed because they're not compatible, but they're few and far between.

Upgrade didn't take long. 2 or 2.5 hours at most. Issues seem to be somewhat rare, but I'd do a full system backup just in case.

Personally, I like to be up to date, but if you don't want to take the small risk, it's not a massive upgrade anyway.

I'm still on windows 7. I absolutely hated 8. I'm dreading having to eventually switch away from 7.

We have two local sports talk radio stations WFNZ, 610AM and ESPN730, 730AM. They are about the same depending on the time of day. The two shows that seem to talk the most about the Hornets are The Call Up at 10AM on WFNZ and Inside The Lines with Marty Hurney at Noon on ESPN 730

The Call Up - http://wfnz.com/the-call-up/
Inside the Lines http://www.espn730.com/page.php?page_id=271

For example, this morning on The Call Up they have been talking about the absurd ESPN future ranking that has the Hornets at #23 overall.

Should I be ashamed of the fact that I have no idea who #8 is (Virat Kohli) or #14. I will assume they are the top cricket players in the world.

Cam Newton #32
Jeremy Lin #60

I guess retired NBA players don't count.

They said the formula used was a combination of salary, endorsements, facebook/twitter/instagram followers, and google search popularity.

The fact that JLin is only paid $2M this year probably hurts his ranking. Assuming he gets more than that next year (a pretty safe bet), he should rise higher than #60 on the list.

i found this soccer manager game on steam yesterday. pretty fun, the player ratings are wacky though just about everyone is 80+ overall. not bad though for a free2play game.

Adidas ad on the Chinese version of the official Adidas website. I guess they're getting ready for his Asia trip.

Promo ad from Good TV (they'll be streaming the broadcast on youtube, and also presumable on whatever Taiwanese station they're on) for the Christian Testimonial. Not sure how that broadcast time translates for us in America.

Harvard President in her 2016 commencement address, name drops JLin:
Jeremy Lin—Harvard graduate, Asian-American—changed the narrative of professional basketball, still sizzling with “Linsanity” when you arrived as freshmen.

From his interview in April:
Q: As a Harvard graduate, Silicon Valley could be a good place to start another career off the court. How do you relate yourself to the technology industry?

Lin: Yeah, I mean, I think me being from the Bay Area and growing up in Silicon Valley, definitely there are ties, and I’m a lot more exposed to the tech boom as opposed to if I had grown up somewhere else. I feel like that’s something that I’ve dabbled in and continue to learn more about. I’ve gone to some of the events and learned some stuff and met with different people, just so I can learn more about it.

And I think the biggest thing I want to do is just to be able to use technology in a positive way. And so whether it’s ‘ed tech’ or impact investing or finding ways to help education or help children, underprivileged children through certain things, whether it’s an investment or a product or whatever, that’s kind of what I’m looking into right now. Obviously, I care a lot about my foundation, and I feel like when I’m done playing, one of the things I want to do is to make the world a better place. And there’s no better way than to really look into tech, because if you take a look around, society’s becoming extremely digital and it’s growing astronomically globally.

So I guess he spends a week in Taiwan, and then leaves for mainland China.

The Taiwan part of his tour schedule:
American NBA star of Taiwanese descent Jeremy Lin (林書豪) will visit Taiwan June 10-17 as part of his annual Asia tour, his agency said Tuesday.

During his stay in Taiwan, the Charlotte Hornets point guard will coach at a basketball camp in Kaohsiung June 11-12.

While in Kaohsiung on June 11, Lin will also attend a Christian gathering to share his life experience.

He will be in Taipei June 13-16, when he will take part in a series of activities, including a charity event, a seminar, a fan meet-and-greet, and two promotional events, before heading to China June 17.

The mainland china part of the tour schedule:

So June 10-17 (Taiwan), June 18-25 (Mainland China), back in time for free agency that starts on July 1st after recovering from jetlag to be in full control of faculties for negotiations.

The timing also works out so that he's conveniently out of the country when the opt-out exercise date happens, so that reporters can't pester him with free agency questions over the expected opt-out.

anybody been to Queen City BBQ? How does it compare to the BBQ legends like Bill Spoons or my personal favorite Rock Store BBQ? A QC BBQ recently opened up near me and I was thinking about trying it out.

It isn't free but Football Manager is one of the most played games on steam for a reason. I'm personally addicted to it. I logged 400+ hours on fm14, 1500 hours on fm15, and already 500 hours on fm16. Simply put they are refreshingly challenging and realistic. If you are looking for a soccer management game the FM series is unrivaled.

Haven't had Bill Spoons, but plenty of Rock Store and QC. Just MHO but Rock is pretty pretty good, but I don't really count it as special. QC is *slightly* better and offers a lot more choices - from sauces to outright alternatives - but it's a lot more expensive. If I just want a good value meal I still go to Rock. If I want to eat out sit down style, especially with finicky kids, I'll go to QC.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

I don't post often anymore but a question for the guys who actually live in Charlotte:

My girlfriend and I are moving to Charlotte in September. Her job is based in Waxhaw so we're looking to stay on the south side of Charlotte if possible. Any recommendations for neighborhoods? Not buying right off, but renting. Open to places not in south Charlotte. Houses or townhomes only, no apartments. Just looking for some ideas I can look into. Thanks!

I'm situated in the Matthews/Stallings area right around 485. I believe Fats is too.

As far as housing/townhome options for renting south of Charlotte - what's your price point?

Most of the area in close proximity to the 485 loop on the south side is pretty affluent, meaning lots of nice places but also relatively pricey.

Are you guys amenable to satellite towns south of Charlotte city limits but north of Waxhaw like Weddington? Whereabouts will you be commuting?
