NBA will do the right thing and award Charlotte the game in the future once the bill is gone.

Still, I am ashamed of our local government. Never before in my life have I been as angry as I have been the last 6 months at Pat Mccrory and the GOP redneck senators and representatives around the state and their backwards, third-world, hick-ass policy making.

Nothing is going to change if we don't get out in November and vote, people. Not caring about voting got us in this mess in the first place.

And there goes my season tickets. The NBA is penalising me and my city for passing a LGBT law and opening the debate when MANY more states have the same laws in place. If the NBA holds an Allstar game in Indiana, Texas, Oklahoma, or Georgia, then they are being hypocrites.

Huge Hornets fan and was originally very ecstatic to hear that the game was coming to Charlotte when it was announced. But good job NBA. #OneTermPat

Mccrory is a weenie. He more than likely doesn't believe in HB2 but he is too scared to upset his donors and wants to be reelected. Our politics have become a travesty.

MJ is pissed about HB2 and very against it, do the point of being mad enough to move the team out of NC. Moving the team as a result is not fair fetched. That's all I am saying. Either Pat goes or possibly our Hornets go.

More power to you. I fully support this kind of action. I agree that there are plenty of laws that might be considered "actionable" in some ways in many places. Money does have power.

That said our law was pretty unique and opened up whole new fronts in the LGBT & local municipality laws battles.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Yeah, think it's been buried and overlooked though.

I'm pretty sure that Pat will go this cycle. However I don't see HB2 changing any time soon. The gerrymandering makes it such that really epic voter turnout will be required for meaningful change in the NCGA this election, and I don't foresee that.

I get that you are pissed at the NBA and don't want to give the league your money right now, but you're hurting the Hornets more than anything. The last thing this city needs is for the fans to turn on the Hornets as a result.

Agreed. Ultimately, it comes down to state/municipal politics. There is no need to punish the Hornets franchise for something that is totally out of their control.

I wonder if the Hornets can sue the state? Or can the city of Charlotte? I mean they have a legitimate grievance here, both are losing hundreds of thousands of dollars

I don't follow politics closely, but here's this FWIW: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2016/governor/nc/north_carolina_governor_mccrory_vs_cooper-4096.html
