Are we forgetting the purpose of the trade isn’t to win a series. It’s to show Kemba we are committed to winning.

Right. It's a tough pill to swallow but we are what we are as a team and short of fleecing another team for a star (like Beal) that was not going to change this season. Better to keep our pick and develop Monk/Miles then throw together a desperation trade just to make the playoffs when we're already on track for that anyway.

I just don't want a repeat of the Tyrus Thomas situation, trading a 1st for a player who doesn't even really help and who has no long-term place on the team. It's good to kick the tires but if the value isn't there walk away. Gasol for a 1st and players on bad contracts was fine, trading Monk + lightly protected 1st is a bridge too far.

JV is a perfectly decent young center. If Cody wasn't injured every year we may have been able to make the same kinda deal ourselves.

yup glad we did'n do anything stupid and traded away our young peices and hopfully Mitch don't do anything stupid in the next 40 some mins. .

If we aren't bringing anybody in, we should just trade Kemba. Standing pat is the stupidest thing to do.

well if Kemba don't like it he can walk I'm for one i'm glad like I said we not trading our young players and picks for Gasol who is not going to help us win a series anyway so its no point in doing it.

If Kemba leaves we can always have our long anticipated tankathon, it just would be nice to get some extra picks out of it. I don't think he leaves and I hope that he has agreed to have patience with this years team. We have more assets next year as our bad contracts become good expirings.

We weren’t asked to trade Monk or Bridges tho... it was about the first rounder. We had issues on protection.
