I truly believe Fats could become Evan Sidery, all it consists of is reading twitter and reposting whatever substack articles are put out each morning and then spending 30 minutes in the trade machine looking for fantasy trades that could happen.

right... i have zero sources... the same as sidery lol.

I'm just gonna start making up **** and posting it to Twitter.

rival execs say Coach Lee could be on the hot seat next season if the Hornets win 19 games again.
Chatter at the combine says the Hornets could trade up or back or stay at number 4 depending on who's available.
Sources close to players suggest that salaun had blackmail On a Hornet's general manager Jeff Peterson which is why he was drafted at 6

I'd trade up to get Harper at 2. 4 + 2026 worst 1st if I'd had to I'd throw TS

#4 + #33 + 2026 mystery pick for #2

id go as high as the miami pick in place of the mystery pick.

I'm in on Harper. If we had to, I'd risk a "bryce young trade" scenario to get him, and offer up our 2026 1st (probably the only thing that gets us to the table), provided we have other follow-up moves in place to actually build out our team.

Here is the mock draft put out today by Matt Norlander; he only does one mock every year. This year he changed his method, and now takes into account team needs/objectives, to go along with what intel he is gathering from league sources.

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/2025-nba-mock-draft-cooper-flagg-is-top-pick-with-dylan-harper-ace-bailey-rounding-out-top-three-selections/

Stays typical until he has the Hornets choosing Tre instead of VJ. Good breakdown on players and teams. Doesn’t have my late rounder Fleming anywhere in the first round. Read his overall take on this draft class. Not as stacked as some say. Makes it imperative we trade our tow seconds to get up into round 1.
I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

That isn't getting it done, imo it would need to be 4 + Hornets unprotected 2027 first for #2.

Seems too rich. Maybe like top 8 protected.

Mavs traded #5, top 5 protected future first for #3.

That is the most realistic deal to mimic, in a draft with a clear tier break at #2 you are going to overpay, giving up some first that is projected to be 21st or later doesn't move the needle to drop from 2 to 4.

Latest mock from SI that includes projected trades, has Pelicans trading up to 3 to get Ace Bailey.

I think we as a board could spam fat's non-sourced Hornets takes and make it get some traction. Add some mystery to it by not including your actual name in your profile and having it be an anonymous account, and just say it's because you're too connected to be able to share your identity.

I bet that would become something. If you hit on an early prediction, you could become the dominant source of Hornets insider news.

like that guy at the old Bobcat Forum who had a cousin who knew DJ Augustin or something.

we could also use Lamar Matic as a reliable source being Porzingis cousin

Not sure what it would take, but I wouldn't hate if we made a offer to the Spurs for Dylan Harper.

I think next year's pick unprotected might get the Spurs attention. They could still end up with VJ or Bailey+ have our lottery pick next year in a loaded class.

have to be at least top 2 protected, you know as soon as we trade an unprotected pick the NBA will let us win the lottery.

Getting Harper would be worth it.

Give them our 26 1st unprotected and deal with results. I personally think Harper will be a superstar. Get our guy and be done with it.

Why would the Spurs break the deal over Hornets offering the Mavs pick top-2 protected instead of a Hornets unprotected pick? The value is close enough that it could be covered with alternative compensation.

I mean one team hasn’t made the playoffs in a decade and the other has the number 1 pick and three hall of famers.

So add an extra first. They gonna kill the deal if its 2026 1st (likely Magic) + Mavs 2027 1st?

I want the Hornets to keep all their own 1sts. Make the playoffs, then start thinking about trading your own firsts like Orlando just did.
