The test will be when Melo comes back, he can't be as effective when Melo dribbles around 15 seconds or more every possession.

Lin has so major pluses to his game, while he won't be able to keep up his scoring he actually is pretty solid offensively.

Strengths:
-Really Great Balance
-Drives with incredible strength
-Seemingly is not bothered by contact- is able to alter his shot at almost any given moment
-Great BBIQ- uses it to find the best available shot for a senario- or to find team-mates wide open, also against the lakers he did a tremendous job on one particular occasion in drawing an offensive foul.
- High level passer
- Players rally around him- everyone plays harder when he is on the floor
- clearly one of the most intelligent players in the league- always says the right thing- always speaks of his team-mates.
- Great shooting form- actually in general Lin has very polished form.
- The dude explodes in the second half of games, and is willing to play for unlimited stretches of time to help his team- doesnt give a single f*ck about exhaustion.

Weaknesses
- Really could benefit from adding a more reliable left game.
- Can be forced into turn-overs
- Sometimes ignores zone D, and charges right into it.
- (sort of a plus and minus) He has to have a high usage %, because he really does dominate the ball- but he does so in order to control pace and get team mates involved, Carmelo may not like this.
- His TO's can be pretty bad.
- Right now this isnt an issue- but eventually when teams start bating him into charging fouls and defensive fouls it could be a problem- cause he is really aggressive.

All in all Lin is a super-aggressive- super smart PG who is willing to elevate his game to the next level to win. He doesnt possess mad hops and instead uses his understanding of the game to dominate opponents. From what Ive seen his game should stick within the NBA- though alot of people point towards his inability to score from the left I think people miss out on just how ridiculously good he is on the right, he can utilize the glass perfectly- drives strongly, and has great balance, which all allow him to adjust shots in mid air or while in a dive to make what would seem to be an impossible shot go in. He also has a great hesitation move and a tight spinning jumper (its new)- and seems to be extending his range as the season progresses. What is most impressive about Lin though is while its obvious that he believes in himself he is by no means cocky or arrogant- constantly (and rightfully) putting alot of his success on the great play of his team-mates (ie: Chandler has been going off so far- and Shumpert plays 10 times better with Lin on the floor). Ultimately Linn is a Diantonni guy- and will succeed in his system. While I don't know if calling Lin a future MVP candidate is warranted it certainly is not out of the question if he can continue helping NY get W's.

so Stephen Jackson is going complete cancer mode on the Bucks. Suspensions, missing team practices, public complaining, partying at clubs late night after games (and before games the next day lol wtf), asking for contract extensions etc

meanwhile Maggette has committed himself to personally funding an entire section of great fans to help the arena atmosphere, never complains, tries to be a leader. they both suck at basketball for the most part now...but thank God we have Maggette now over this wannabe gangster Stak5 lmao. add in the fact that we moved up to the 7th pick and we really ripped them off

@ advanced - it really was a truly awful trade for the bucks and a fantastic trade for us. i'd love to see the bucks just cut him and eat his remaining contract.

@ penguin - nice write up on lin. from what i have seen of him i agree with your assessment.

The Jax trade may be the first one that this franchise has unequivocally come out ahead on. It's nice to win one for a change.

Jeremy Lin reminds me of Jason (White Chocolate) Williams. He started off hot too, then eventually fizzled into a mediocre off the bench role player. I think that when his scouting report gets out there good, and coaches start game planning for him Lin will eventually do the same.

I would not call Lin's jumper "great" or "polished". His elbow stick out too far, making him inconsistent

i can see some of the hype similarities. if i had to argue against it, i'd say that jason's hype had more to do with his highlight passes rather than his transforming a losing team into a winning team. the kings were good, with or without jason.

no doubt scouting will catch up with lin and teams will be gearing defenses to stop him. but having melo, amare, chandler and lin together, teams will have to pick where they want to focus there defense.

none of this lin stuff though really matters to me until we see what happens when melo returns.

The biggest concern with Lin is that he is guaranteed to turn the ball over 5 times a game (if not more)

Although I feel a little sorry for Felton, don't you just love the hate Portland fans give him?

This signature is absolutely hilarious.

Charlotte. If we can't retain DJ, bring the chunky little guy back in as a backup to Kemba.

Phoenix would be a good place if they trade Nash, the Lakers could certainly use him, and I think the Clippers could put him at the two. He would have been a good fit in NY pre-Lin. If Ainge trades Rondo, I could see Ray going to Boston as a stopgap.

His value has went way down though and we're fortunate he didn't accept that 40m contract we offered him a few years ago.

i dont think ray's ego would accept a backup role here in charlotte for a terrible team.
