Re: Passing is for Starters - the Ramon Sessions Thread
Like everyone I'm really hoping we keep a hold of Ramon but I was wondering where people value him at?
Obviously he's not untouchable but he really did impress this past season, if as expected we take either McLemore or Oladipo then Sessions' minutes could be reduced.
Should we capitalise on him now? Keep him or trade him at the deadline?

Definitely keep him.

Re: Passing is for Starters - the Ramon Sessions Thread
He was one of the top players on the team last year. Should only be traded for something of equal or higher value ... high draft pick next year, similarly good player who bings better balance to the team, etc. I suspect that he's a keeper for this upcoming season, but he will also be someone that other teams look for the Bobcats to include in trades.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Re: Passing is for Starters - the Ramon Sessions Thread
As part of an overall strategy, it could make sense to trade Ramon.
1. Draft Victor Olidipo
2. Trade Ramon for a 1st rd pick. Draft Reggie Bullock, 42% 3 pt shooter
3. Sign ufas Shaun Livingston & Francisco Garcia (40% 3 pt shooter) for a combined $5 mln
(Dunleavy or Dorrel Wright as alternates to Garcia if needed)
Institute a high efficiency 3&D offense with Kemba, Olidipo& MKG driving to the hoop,
Garcia, Bullock & Taylor shooting 3s.
We would essentially trade Ramon for 3 players (Livingston, Garcia, Bullock) gaining a new backup PG and two effective 3/D players that would allow us to attempt a higher efficiency offense.

hang on to sessions until at least the trade deadline. then we hope that a playoff team is desperate for help at point guard and is willing to part with a valuable young asset or 1st round pick to acquire him. if not, keep him and resign him next summer if he is willing to stick around as kemba's backup.

No interest in trading Ramon. He has game, is only 26, and wants to be here. He can easily be a team leader for five to 10 years.

I agree, but if the right deal comes along and a team insists on taking Ramon then I'd be more than willing to part with him if it meant getting a Demarcus Cousins or a Derrick Favors or something.

Imagine if the Pacers could do this one over. Vogel would give his left nut for one decent bench player. That's all they basically needed to get past Heat. I think Sessions would fit in that role rather will since Indy struggles with scoring. He's the guy who'll get his double digit points by simply attacking the basket in semi-transition.
Looking at their roster though, I can't figure out anything we'd be willing to take from them back in February. Gerald Green and a late first rounder doesn't sound good at all.

lol, in what world are you living? Some of you guys are laughing about the Pistons guys, yet here we believe that we could get DMC or Favors for Ramon freaking Sessions. He isn't even a lock for the top25 of Fat's point guard rankings.

I'm assuming/hoping he meant Ramon as part of the deal, not straight up for DMC or Favors.

It's still hard for me to imagine a trade in which this would be possible. I don't think that Utah and Sac Town would be interested in anyone we have, even if it is Kemba or MKG.

Sessions finds comfort in role with Charlotte Bobcats
“Backing up Kemba is fine with me and he’s a guy that’s going to be great and a guy that I hope I can be around and see how great he can become. There’s no macho man here trying to take his job or nothing like that. I feel like we work well together when we’re out there playing. If I have to back him up the next five years, that’s something I’ll be fine with.”

Re: Passing is for Starters - the Ramon Sessions Thread
After reading that I don't think there's any need to sign a young 3rd string PG. We should just find a cheap veteran type that'll be insurance in case Kemba or Sessions get injured. Maybe even bring Pargo back.

Need to lock this guy up for the long term.

I concur. It seems like Sessions just want a stable job & role in the NBA, and Charlotte can provide that for him. Being a Carolina native also helps & factors into that equation as well

I tried to tell you guys that last year. Nooooooo. He only came here, because he thought that he could eclipse Kemba in the line up.
