Rodney Hood, Nick Stauskas and Andre Dawkins are all killing it from 3 - all shooting around 45% from 3 on the season and all with over 4 3PG. Would love to draft Hood or Stauskas if we end up with a mid-1st round pick, and would love to sign Dawkins if he goes undrafted. We need outside shooters in the worst way.

I also would love to be able to hang on to the Detroit pick and pick up one of McDermott, Hood or Stauskas in that late lottery slot.

Here's a name that I haven't heard about but that is tearing it up right now - check out the stats of Jabari Brown for Missouri (http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... bari-brown). Dude is killing it.

The guy is incredibly raw and (hold your breath folks) we would have to give him about 2 seasons before he's a legitimate double double threat.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about Vonleh. We need to draft more NBA ready guys now instead of project bigs. Plus, I don't think Vonleh has that high of a ceiling anyway with his average athleticism.

Pick-7
Pick-9
Pick-25

That would rev up the Hornets. I think the lone team that can drop Detroit to 8 would be the Cavs, but we are the strongest candidate to fall below Detroit to push the pick back up to 9.

If we come in 9th or tenth place, we're not guaranteed the 9th or tenth pick, we can, because of the Lottery, get pushed to the 11th pick, which would then convey to CHI, right??

That would be some really crappy luck, but yes, it's possible.

Yup. Similarity, we can lose the Detroit pick if they jump into the lottery.

Best case would be to jump into the top three while pushing the Detroit pick to 9, and thus, to Charlotte :lol:

Chances of that happening are very, very, very small.

Sadly, the chances of losing our pick (if we land tenth) are about double that of moving into the top three (about 9% vs. about 4%).

Lets just hope that we miss the playoffs and remain as a top 10 pick first of all. As long as us and detroit are in there I'm assuming we won't lose them, just on odds

Portland might've finally hit the wall, got beat down by Memphis and they've lost 4 out of the last 6 games

There was only so long a team that lived by the 3-pointer with porous defense (27th ranked defense) could pretend

I still don't see the POR pick changing all that much. Rockets and Clippers can pass them so maybe it moves from 26 to 24. But it's nice to see it gaining value as the season progresses.

It's possible pick 24 in the 2014 draft is every bit as useful as pick 13 in the 2013 draft.

I suppose we can fantasize we would have drafted Antetokounmpo but it's more likely we would have taken Shabazz Muhammad.

Draft Express projects Glen Robinson III to go around there. Last year he would've gone around 13.

Draft Net projects James Young to go 22. Maybe you give up a 2nd rounder to move up a few slots.

Oh, wow, I just noticed Draft Net has Julius Randle going to the Lakers at 7. We could be on the cusp of getting him by the time we're through and not have to win the lottery. Would be awesome to get him at 7 and then pick up LaVine at 9, then James Young with pick 24 or 25 + future 2nds.

I'm getting greedy! :evil:

Randle
LaVine
J. Young

It looks like we could lose 5 of our next 6 and opens seed 8 to the Knicks (hopefully not the Pistons). We would be 20-32.

@Nuggets - loss
@Lakers - win
@Suns - loss
@Warriors - loss
Spurs - loss
Mavs - loss

Then we're after playing the Nets we play a back-to-back series against the Pistons. They need to be beaten down. But if we lose, no biggie.

I think we might just wanna forget about our pick. It's going to Chicago. According to "insiders" we are going to be buyers at the trade deadline.

Would love to see us trade up and get Dante Exum. Kid can absolutely ball. Also wouldn't mind seeing McDermott come to Charlotte. Somebody tried to say he would be another Adam Morrison. Think he's more comparable to Parsons with a better shot.

McDermott isn't anything more than a spot up shooter right now at Creighton, what makes you think he could turn into more in the NBA? Chandler Parsons took home SEC player of the year honors and didnt really blossom until Harden came along. If we get McDermott, I think you're just acquiring a 3 pt specialist on a second unit. If you have that high of a pick, thats a bad selection for what he brings to the team
Mike Malone was never given a fair chance in Sacramento, and Ranadive will soon come to regret that, when he's on top of the WC inevitably contending somewhere

Nobody is drafting McDermott thinking he's going to be a star like a select few did with Morrison. People will be picking him outside the lottery as purely a three-point shooter.

The pick is 9 and the Knicks will catch us if we hold this pick and MKG. Without trading either, we don't improve much at all. If we do nothing, I believe we're looking at picks 9 and 10 or 8 and 9. It's hard to say if we would package those picks to move up or if a team drafting top 6 would accept a package. I'm not thrilled about any of the player in this range but I believe we can address our 2 weakest positions with either Randle or Vonleh at PF and either LaVine or Harris at SG.

Yeah, we don't need any 3 point shooters. We're just loaded with them.

I don't know how much you watch Creighton (I'm guessing mainly highlights), but I see more than just a spot up shooter.

"He's such a good player and has such a tremendous feel that he will be able to contribute in other ways, too. Screen-and-rolls, pick-and-pops...That kind of stuff. He'll utilize his knowledge and savvy to make himself a really tough matchup. His biggest difficulty will be staying in front of guys in isolation situations, where he may get overpowered. But make no mistake, I like him. I'd want him on my team" -unnamed NBA Scout (yes I know, they don't know all)
