I really don't like the sound of this.

Following the combine, Stauskas said he could envision himself playing in Boston. He spent two years at St. Mark's School in Southborough, Mass., prior to landing at Michigan. He played against current Celtics president Danny Ainge's son in both high school and in AAU competition. Additionally, current Celtics coach Brad Stevens has long known Michigan assistant LaVall Jordan, dating back to their time at Butler.

At the combine, Stauskas said his interview with the Celtics was "really short, but very positive."
"They had a lot of good things to say about me," he added.

The Celtics aren't dumb enough to draft another PG that can't shoot. They've went years with Rondo so I doubt they'd want his successor to be Smart. I can see Boston taking Stauskas and not paying attention to that BPA hype machine crap Chad Ford and them be tryna sell people on.

5-Hornets-Stauskas
6-Celtics-Vonleh
7-Lakers-Smart
8-Kings - Gordon/Randle
9-Jazz - Gordon/Randle

Trading up with the Jazz works if they like Gordon + Randle almost as much as they like Vonleh. They do have Kanter/Favors so they could go McDermott. Or maybe they like Saric.

Ainge can suck it.

So what are we giving to move up? I'd love to move for the right price.

Pick 24.

But you know Cho loves Harris enough to keep pick 24.

But you know Cho loves Harris enough to keep pick 24.

Unfortunately I do. Hopefully Boston falls in love with Vonleh or someone other than Stauskas. If we miss on him and take Harris I'll be miserable.

I do think Boston is in love with Vonleh but the Jazz will take him. So I think they're open minded at 6 and Stauskas is going to shine and earn their confidence, win them over and beat out the other guys outside Vonleh.

Kanters had a disappointing year this year. They need to move Favors to center, draft Vonleh, and have a hell of an athletic front court.

I was actually listening to some Jazz fans talking about the draft today. They seemed to think that if they take Vonleh then Kanter would out and they felt like he wouldn't really be a good fit. They thought more of Gordon and Randle. So maybe (hopefully) it goes like this...

5. Jazz - Randle/Gordon
6. Celtics - Vonleh
7. Lakers - Smart
8. Kings - Randle/Gordon
9. Hornets - Stauskas

I think Vonleh fits because he stretches the floor, opening the interior for Favors. Kanter can't dominate the interior like Favors and he can't stretch the floor like Vonleh.

I think Kanter would be the odd man out. They could package Kanter + 23 for something.

They can send Kanter to us. I remember Kanter absolutely killing Biyombo on multiple occasions. Kid has talent.

Yeah I could see it. Just repeating what I heard from them. They didn't really seem to think he'd be the best fit.

Personally, I'm pretty conflicted on Vonleh. He reeks of potential, but he's got some red flags that really scare me. He is so raw.

He is raw, but so are the Jazz and they live in the West.

I just hope that somehow we end up with Stauskas. But I'm getting paranoid with the speculation of him going before we pick and then our supposed interest in Harris.

Stauskas is the one guy I feel like is a perfect fit for us. Everyone else has a big flaw that concerns me. There are other guys I like, but no one who I think is as good or fits as well as Nik.

Stauskas has more size, can shoot better (slightly, Harris had a dip in shooting his soph year but he was lights out his freshmen year, the stroke was there), Harris is better defensively, both can handle the ball (I give the edge to Stauskas barely).

Its closer than you think, but I would give it to Stauskas.
