I loved the McBob for Warrick trade. I really liked the Tolly signing. I deplored the Al signing. And crap like this is why.

We are grasping at straws trying to build a team around this:

Our defense was one of the best in the league and Al averaged beast numbers so you can get over that

We made the playoffs thanks to everyone tanking and got swept by a team the Spurs ran off the court so badly that LeBron went back to Cleveland. And that was before we replaced our starting PF with an oversized SF.

I would rather watch the 7-win roster play again than the way this roster is shaking out.

Terrible player. Terrible fit. Terrible number.

I don't think he's a terrible fit. That's the only part of your statement that I can dispute in good faith.

I don't think he should start for us. I don't think he is a PF. I think he is a SF and SF is a position we should be playing MKG at for 35+mpg.

So we are paying 7 mil a year for a back up who should only see very limited mins?

Yikes!!

I see him playing a Mexicat type role for us and there is no way I would have wanted to paying him that sort of money.

He played power forward almost exclusively for the Jazz last year so I'm going to go ahead and disagree about him being a small forward.

I'll PM you soon. Sorry It's been a while. Crazy couple of weeks which ended with my 7.5 year old busting her arm and needing surgery yesterday.

You don't mean that. That 7 win roster gave me cancer.

I see what you're saying but I think he'll start at power forward. Positions blur and Al will be commanding the middle as our true big man, so Marv will sit around the perimeter like a small forward. This is no doubt an overpay though. I hope Cho's calculator spit out some numbers that point towards Marv being good for us

I totally get the blur between sg and sf but not so much PF. I also think that he is just a really bad fit next to Al. I think someone like Anthony Randolph would have been better (and a hell of a lot cheaper).

Unless we plan on playing MKG at PF like we did Wallace - but I get worried that MKG's body would suffer the same way Wallace's did.

He played PF last season and we need a PF to start. Likely he is going to play PF here since a starting PF was our biggest need since McRoberts left.

He played PF last season for the Jazz...............and the Jazz sucked arse!!

Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Yet he still did it better than anyone we had. We needed a starter at PF and he was what they got.

I don't think McBob would have been happy with a 2 year contract unless it was 10mill each.

Silver lining attempt!

Playing off of Al suits Marvin and his numbers blow out and he becomes a valuable expiring next year

Come on now Slam. He is overpaid, but he can fill in at either forward spot.

just wait until we sign Brian Roberts to be Kemba's backup

that would be alright if we manage not to pay eight digit number per year.

Im going to pull a MrKnowitall and Ichiro and say this

"Charlotte had a deal lined up with McRoberts for 2 years at 14 million and he chose the longevity of the deal he signed with Miami, it just made more sense for him"

I just want to know how much. That's the kicker nowadays. I always thought that Cho was conservative, but that's certainly not the case. He'll overpay (for a Jazz player) in a nanosecond, so maybe that's enough of a silver lining to have faith that he won't offer Brian Roberts over $2.5 million annually

Brian Roberts would be just fine as a backup for Kemba. What else do some of you people want for backups? My freaking God. (I responded to you Sik and JDR, but it has nothing to do with either of you)

I would've worded it a little different before being misinterpreted as stating fact or misconstrued as a psychic, something like:

"I think Charlotte had a deal lined up with McRoberts for 2 years at 14 million and he chose the longevity of the deal he signed with Miami, it just made more sense for him"

There you go, FTFY
