I buy the continuity explanation. He knew he was going to have to play Hairston and that whichever lineup he was in was going to take a huge hit, so he probably just felt that the starters were better equipped to deal with it since he would never get the ball unless he had to playing with the first unit.

Lol. The only continuity we got out of playing Hairston was consistent negative nets with our starters. He had Kemba and crew looking bad early in the year.

He would have been a bigger negative getting his 15-20 minutes on the second unit.

Lamb looked good in his initial role as the primary scorer for the 2nd unit. Cliff put him in a position to succeed there.

PJ was going to be a net negative anywhere. With a healthy MKG he probably would have seen spot minutes at best.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Same thing can be said for someone like Kemba with "coaching" changed to "playing".

I agree 100%.

Personally I sometimes wish that the Hornets hadn't drafted Kemba and weren't coached by Cliff. I make myself feel better by reminding myself that no player or coach is perfect and neither guy is really that bad.

Well that's interesting. Coach Clifford, the FA whisperer.

Now is the summer to put that whispering to use.

Any guesses on who Clifford is going to be 'whispering' to come July 1st?

Speaking of players primed for TV and radio, I am so happy to see Brendan Haywood on NBATV and other basketball related TV appearances lately. Of all the players who have ever played in Charlotte and been interviewed on the radio here in Charlotte, Haywood was, by far, the most knowledgeable, most articulate player I've ever heard, Derek Anderson was #2, Jared Dudley #3. Haywood is a massive hoops junkie who deserves to be on TV. I hope he is able to carve out a bigger role for himself in the upcoming years.

It's very interesting to know that Clifford is heavily involved in free agency and trades. Does this mean he gets credits for the trades that we won? 8-)
