In Barcelona/Spain ? Yes he was. When Barcelona managed to sign him, he was highly watched even if there were questions marks about his attitude from some of of his countrymen (on some forums i regulary read).
Was it deserved ? Probably not. But croats have a really talented young generation (Arapovic, Bender, Hezonja, Perasovic, Prkacin, Samanic, Tisma etc) knowing Saric is not that old and i guess we 'always' expect them to produce the new Petrovic/Radja and alike.

I liked him as prospect, but didn't he come off the bench for Barcelona? He wasn't nearly as productive as Porz or Luka in the Spanish League. I know there was rumors of the coach not wanting to fool with a that was leaving, but now I sort of see that as the equivalent of American Soccer fan's complaining about American prospects getting shafted by their managers but they just aren't good enough for that level.

https://www.basketball-reference.com/international/players/mario-hezonja-1.html

you guys are letting hype decide a guy's value. mario was never anything close to a star. i'd say he's the basketball equivalent of freddy adu but that's an insult to freddy tbh...

Hate to say this, but I'm warming up to Cole Anthony.

If were picking in the 7 to 9 range, of course.

He was younger and anyway at his position they had several options (Navarro at sg obviously and some us player at the wing or even Abrines).
Doncic has been a major exception in acb league since most of the young players plays in 2nd/junior team or are loaned to 'partner teams' from top acb teams. Porzingis was in a smaller team, its way easier for them to have playing time.

And to reply to Dy_Nasty, i did not say it was deserved, but Mario was still drafted at the 5th place. For the record, we never had any prospect drafted higher than the 8th position (Ntilikina).

/off topic

As for the 2020 draft, i still dont get why Hornets are happily winning against tanking teams. This is total nonsense.

I hate this board lol jk. The reason why tho is because whomeever did it takes away all my dreams of having a

HAYES, BALMARO, JOE draft. I wouldn't get ANY of my picks lol.

They have Hayes going BEFORE our 1st pick

They have Balmaro going WAY before our 2nd pick

They have Joe not even lasting to our 2nd pick.

Joe and Balmaro are expected to go way after our 1st pick so it would be too much of a reach for either with that pick.

I guess it would be best to trade back and grab Balmaro with the first pick and hope Joe is at least there at 32

I know what to do. I think we should trade our first pick and drop allll the way back to pick #18.

Pick up an additional 2 (lottery protected) future 1st round picks for our 1st pick if possible.

Then use pick #18 to draft Balmaro

and draft Joe with #32.

If Balmaro is off the board at #18 use that to draft Joe and draft Cazalon with #32. and draft Jalen smith or
Ty-shon Alexander with #45

Graham / Rozier
Joe / Monk / Alexander (maybe)
Balmaro / Bridges (or Calazon)
McDaniels / Washington
Zeller / Smith (maybe)

and we pick up 2 future first round picks

@Fischella is JPesuquera someone we should be paying any attention to? never heard of him; more critically, he has Hornets taking Trayce Jackson-Davis at 8??? setting aside the fact that he is Dale Davis's son, Jackson-Davis isn't even in the ESPN Top 100; is this, after CHA has used picks on IU PFs Zeller & Vonleh, and already has Bridges & PJ Washington in the fold, some kind of perverse joke? who is this JPequera dude and why should we care to see his ranking?

Dude doesn’t make his teammates better, is a black hole, clearly has trust issues, and is a chucker. Nah I’m good.

Someone posted a good video on Isaiah Joe. This video shows a lot about his complete game.
He seems so pro ready. I hope we draft this kid.

Azubuike just had a monster game against Baylor. In most mock draft he is ranked in the 2nd round, and even if he looks pretty old school, he might be a solid pick in the second round if he was available.
There will be some changes in the league most likely, it would be smart if Hornets have an option like him if the league stop being '3 pt heavy/dominant'.

I know a lot here are up tempo fans, i am not so i might be in the minority here.

I agree with this as an option for our 3rd pick. I hadn't included him in my DEPTH CHART but planned on in the next one in April. I have him I THINK around the middle of the pack. I would rather him that Wiseman. Wouldn't be mad of we drafted him with our 3rd pick (unless someone somewhat obvious to take is still on the board)

we are arguably the least talented team in the league

we don't need to "try" to lose games. we're so wildly over-performing that its honestly ridiculous

I think when it all balances out at the end of the season we will have the 5th worst record. It’s prime lotto win territory.

It scares me that we may have a higher-than-normal pick with some UNC and Kentucky players available. Me being the anti-Jordan, I'd rather have James Wiseman, Vernon Carey or Daniel Otoru if we can't land Melo.
