Re: Mann Up: The Tre Mann thread
Mann and Sexton aren't point guards.
I know he's a weak wild card, but I would again give Ben Simmons a shake.

Re: Mann Up: The Tre Mann thread
Look what Okogie’s stats are so far this season:
GP MIN FG% 3P% FT% REB AST BLK STL PF TO PTS
10 22.9 48.1 46.9 85.0 2.2 1.3 0.2 1.3 2.2 0.6 8.4
And this staff and organization thought it was better to bring Tre Mann back verses keeping Okogie.
UGH

I continue to wait...and hope...for the return to Hornet's glory.

Who could use a player like that?..
Edit: not to mention the most underrated defender in the league.

Re: Mann Up: The Tre Mann thread
The annoying thing with Okogie he absolutely looked like he “fit the culture”.
Maybe he wanted to go to Houston and we did him a solid.

Re: Mann Up: The Tre Mann thread
because Mann was signed using Bird rights and received a salary at least 20% higher than previous he cannot be traded until January 15

100% agree. The best thing Sexton does is put his head down, drive to the basket and get fouled.
The best thing Mann does is beat somebody 1v1 with some iso moves.
Neither guy really plays with there head up all the time and gets the ball moving. Dinwiddie could have really helped here becuase there are some nights he gets hot and you just can't go under the screen. Would also be nice to have 2 actual pgs on the roster.

i would too, but I wonder what he's asking for. He had minimum offers in the offseason and turned them down.
We still have most of our MLE remaining

Re: Mann Up: The Tre Mann thread
legit question
wtf happened to mann? is this rust from year off? did he lose a few steps from back issues? random slump? bad scheme from coach? or was he always this awful?
he's routinely been worst player on floor on both ends this year
a true traffic cone on defense, with horrible awareness
awful shot selection, tunnel vision, ball stopper, midrange game seemingly disappeared
such a cool dude tho

After the honeymoon period faded it has become apparent he's just a slightly better version of James Bouknight.

Re: Mann Up: The Tre Mann thread
has the injury slowed him a bit? he seemed slipperier last time, he could get past everyone hence the AI comparisons.

Re: Mann Up: The Tre Mann thread
The OKC trade really soured quickly after the back end of the season it happened.
Micic turned to crap, Mann got injured for ages and then turned to crap, Bertans was never of any value. Does anyone know what happened to the 2024 and 2025 second rounders we got out of the deals?
Please tell me one of them turned into Kalkbrenner or something useful lol.

Re: Mann Up: The Tre Mann thread
Yeah, the OKC deal went from being a heist to swapping trash pretty quick.
Mann just isn't good at anything besides his fancy dribbling moves, but fancy dribbling isn't very useful.
Average shooter, below average passer, bad defender. Just a dime a dozen small scoring guard. Feels like we've had a lot of those recently.

Re: Mann Up: The Tre Mann thread
I would have preferred Bertans this year, he stretched the floor well at least.

February 8, 2024: Traded by the Oklahoma City Thunder with Davis Bertans, Vasilije Micić, cash, a 2024 2nd round draft pick (KJ Simpson was later selected) and a 2025 2nd round draft pick (Johni Broome was later selected) to the Charlotte Hornets for Gordon Hayward. 2024 2nd-rd pick is HOU own 2025 2nd-rd pick is PHI own Charlotte also received a trade exception
Broome was the pick we sent to Dallas for Josh Green.
So final tally was Mann, Bertans, Micic, KJ Simpson, Josh Green for Gordon Hayward.

Turned into junk for junk basically, ahh well. Worth a shot. Maybe they can send out Green or Mann as part of some salary deal and get some return on it still.

so OKC won because they had to pay zero of those guys, freeing up cap space for Isaiah Hartenstein
