The last thing this team needs is some guy who wants to come fit in to what we’ve got going on, shoot some corner 3s and give a good interview

That is not close to worst case scenario for me.

Worst case scenario IMO is a ball hog inefficient ISO player that refuses to accept coaching and forces his style of play on the team without creating good shots.

I'm not saying that's Ace, I'm just saying there are a lot worse things than what you're suggesting.

Thats a possible outcome but probably still not the actual worst case scenario which would be passing up on a guy who turned out to be a McGrady/Tatum and settling for a Mike Dunleavy/Grayson Allen because you’re scared you can’t develop him.

It’s hard to reconcile a front office that can talk themselves into burning a pick on a blind swing on Tiddy and then chicken out on an Ace Bailey

If he busts he busts and it’s on to the next one, it’s not that a big deal and nothing we aren’t used to. There’s certainly no universe where you’re sitting there crying yourself to sleep regretting missing on Kon for a decade because you took an actual real justifiable swing on someone with real talent

I honestly have no idea what to make of this information without seeing it compared to other similar players. I have no idea what percentage of turnovers most players have from passing or dribbling etc.

Wouldn't it make sense that most turnovers come from errant passes?

Yeah was thinking the same, seems like this is mainly a negative hit piece because what are we hoping to see in this breakdown?

James has been team Kon as the 3rd best prospect for some time now. Not sure if that is influencing him.

lol. I'm guessing you haven't bothered to read the rest of the threads today LOL

That makes sense. I thought it seemed like the discussion was referring to this but I skimmed over the last couple pages and didn't see it. I must have just missed it somehow.

I think you and I have radically different definitions of worst case scenario. Drafting a dude at 4 that busts to me is the definition of worst case scenario.

I just don't think this is ever the case and seems dramatic.
Do I think maybe he won't be able to adapt to what is asked of him? Sure.
but these takes that he will just ignore the coach and shoot 30 times a game and purposefully play a way that the team is telling him not to is very strange. When has that ever happened?

I think worst case he is a Kuminga, Mathurin, Whitmore type of player that will have good moments but ultimately not have it fully figured out and therefore never reach his value or be considered a winning player. Even these three guys are still going to be in the NBA a long time because they still bring something to the table.

but this he will go rogue and we won't be able to control him and he will shoot us out of games because he ignores coaching all seem super far fetched.

Sure, I was more saying objective worst case scenario, not that I think that's a realistic worst case scenario for Ace.

For me Ace haas been the clear 3rd pick all along and the Hornets should take him or VJ at 4 whoever PHI doesn’t take. But this refusing to workout for the team that is in his range and where there is “a clear pathway to stardom” whatever that means irks me and makes me not want him. I know you still take him if he’s bpa but as a fan I want to root for guys who want to be here on the team.

Castle said he only wanted to play PG.

These kids just talk at the end of the day. Ace will play wherever he is drafted. He just wants to go to a specific team. Well unfortunately he de doesn't have that kind of power. If a team views him as the BPA he will get selected by that team.

He's clearly trying to force his way to the Nets, right? right? just no other explanation. Taking a page out of Kobe's playbook. Except Kobe wasn't scared to go play with other good players, Quite the opposite, Kobe wanted to go somewhere that gave him the best chance to win first, get famous 2nd. Nobody's going through all this **** to go play in New Orleans or for the Wizards. sure as **** isn't doing all this to go play in Utah.

Maybe we are the team he wants to play for?

highly dobtful That he's doing all this nonsense to force his way to Charlotte of all places. Does it mean we won't draft him. Doesn't mean we Set some smokescreens to create some trade interest. I'm assuming that Charlotte is one of the teams that he already refused to work out for.

Ya this is situation is weird. Seems like it has to do with his agent/camp.
