Lin is not even qualified as a post-up defender this playoffs. ( Minimum of 10 min/game and 10 possessions per play type to qualify. )
And we are talking about how bad he was abused by Wade's post-up in a few possessions???
This is confirmation biased towards an Asian player. ( weak, soft, thin, can't play D, etc.)
The irony of this post is astounding

Its not ironic that you posted the wrong link. What's ironic is that you took one small quote out of a 10 paragraph post out of context as evidence that there is some racial bias against an Asian player. The post was from a Lin fan and very positive towards Lin. Your confirmation bias caused you to pick that small bit of information out as evidence to confirm your preconceptions.
Lin has overcome a lot of bs in his life. Asians and Asian Americans in general have to deal with normalized racism all the time. But his post isn't evidence in the slightest of bias against an Asian player.

nah ... My post wasn't necessary relative to that post ... I was talking about the situation in general. Many Hornets(not necessary on this board, I haven't been sticking ard here since maybe Dec.) singled out Lin only whenever Wade abused anyone this series.

For a lot of fans, the Hornets making the playoffs is an accomplishment. Winning a playoff game for the first time in 14 years? Overachieving. Winning 2 in a row? Surreal. Winning 3? It's a miracle. The future is bright.
Lin wanted more. Lin fans wanted more. Lin has already been to the playoffs a few times but never got out of the first round. The Hornets had two shots at getting it done, but couldn't. Huge disappointment. The future is full of uncertainties.
At the end of the day, Lin has given the Hornets everything he has, has helped the team to get to the playoffs, and has been classy throughout. $2.1M well spent. The Hornets have given Lin just enough to show the rest of the league what he can do, whenever an opportunity presented itself.
Free agency begins in 2 months. We'll see what happens then.
Yes only Lin could've made two extra shots to win the game. Hard to do sitting on the bench.

Re: Not In The Face - The Jeremy Lin Thread 3 + 1
It was a nice year for Lin and he made the best of his limited time and role he got from the Hornets in the playoff....Too bad Clifford didn't trust him a bit more in the first half of game 7 while the game was still in play. Unfortunately, Clifford decided he was going to win or lose this game on the back of his stars and wasn't going to be swayed by terrible shooting starts by Kemba/Batum/Al.
Now, it should be interesting to see what Lin does in free agency...Does he even consider re-signing with the Hornets and a coach that clearly think he's nothing more than a very limited role player or does he look for a new team that can offer him a bigger role and more importantly, trust in his ability.
The Hornets will probably demand a discount and would probably try to sell Lin on the fact that he love his teammates and they made the playoff.
On the other hand, Lin's agent has to be aware that the return of MKG may cut deeper into Lin's playing time, so he may get less minutes next year. Is Lin really willing to accept a lesser role next year and take a pay-cut based on his market value just to return to Charlotte and play for a coach that can only see you as a bench player that should be kept under a time limit.

I continue to believe that the more antagonistic Lin fans have zero clue what is going on in his head.

To be honest, I wouldn't give it much weight on what Lin is saying right now. Because he always says the right thing.

He's been saying that he loves this team all year though. Granted, his language is a bit couched - "interested in coming back" - I am sure he is interested in a lot of things. It will depend on how things shake out in FA probably.

Jeremy Lin said he "absolutely" wants to return to @hornets. Said he'd even take a discount and this season was most fun he's had in @nba.

I guess he will not be so interested when Batum get 25M max and he get a quarter of that.

Say what you wanna say, it's not you who will take the decision, it's Lin.

Saying how much he likes to remain in Charlotte will only help his bargaining power elsewhere.

It appears as if some Lin fans are projecting their personal opinions upon Lin to fit their own personal narrative and agenda.
Like its inconceivable that he actually DOES like his team and role on it. How dare he know what's best for himself?
