I am 100% convinced we wont be keeping the pick anyways. It'll be attached to a bad contract just to get out of the bad contract.

Because of this, I haven't watched a full college game all season. Nor do I have a Slam crush on any prospects this year.

I am zen.

I am also convinced that we will not keep 12, and will ship it out with 52 to get out of a contract.

I am also convinced that if he's there at 36, we will definitely take Carsen Edwards, simply because MJ only watches the tournament.
Who I woulda took:
2023: Miller | 2022: Duren | 2021: Bouknight, Jones | 2020: Ball | 2019: PJ | 2018: MPJ | 2017: Monk | 2016: Damian Jones | 2015: Winslow | 2014: Vonleh, Napier | 2013: McLemore | 2012: MKG | 2011: Knight, Kawhi

I think we'll probably trade 12 as well, but if not I'm off the French guy long name train and on the Bol 2x train. That dude is nuts.

This sounds like immature analysis, but these past few seasons have made me just so bored with the team. This fanbase needs a young player with potential, and bring some damn excitement again (No, Miles is not that guy) I really wanna take a chance on a boom or bust prospect, that’s why Bol or Hachimura are my guys right now

I'd rather take lotto tickets on boom/bust prospects in the late lottery and hope to get lucky then try to shed a contract so we can overpay a different player in free agency to come to CLT. But, I also think the B to A- free agents that are up for big Contracts are the riskiest and generally the worse value contracts in the NBA.

I guess you can always cross your fingers for a legit fleecing by Kupchek.

This largely echoes my feelings. The favoritism of some teams over others and the outright corruption that exists is turning me away from the NBA. And it isn't just the NBA, it's all professional sports. I still enjoy playing, but I care less and less about paying to watch other people play sports.

You are absolutely right. The biggest risk is making a B or A- guy a max offer. That’s how you end up with Nic Batum. Somebody is going to offer Tobias Harris a Max contract and while he’s a very good player, it will be regretted.

Have to figure out a way to get the 3rd or 4th pick since LA and NYK don't want them

Too bad our assets stink

(If Kemba stays)

12, MKG, Cody Zeller For Julius Randle and Solomon Hill

Pelicans get another lottery pick, Hornets get a player we can actually use and shave a year of Cody Zeller's bad contract

Wether Kemba stays or not, there is still potential to bounce back as no one can predict how the East is gonna look like next season (it's not like i expect a lot of stars to move to the East besides Durant, knowing some might move to the East again).

My personnal choices would be Clarke (if he's available and FO don't pick him up i will be beyond mad, especially if the Hawks get him), Dort, Okeke

Glad that Cleveland and the Knicks did not get top picks.

Kevin Porter Jr. is our guy, whether we pick him 12th or go the Miles Bridges route and pick someone the two teams behind us want and pick up an extra asset. Porter could be this years hidden gem like Donovan Mitchell was a few years ago.

I assume if we do end up keeping the #12 pick we’ll use it to draft Naz Reid.

Because Naz Reid is someone I don’t think I’d be happy about drafting.

I’d do it in a nanosecond, but Pelicans won’t. Randle showed he had game last year.

The Porters have chronic knee issues. Michael, Kevin and their sister who is an athlete, all with bad knee or leg problems. Radioactive ☢️....do not touch.

At this point I don't care who we draft I just hope they're a hard worker and not content with just making it to the league.

Gone are the days you're going to find a true "Freak" late in the draft. Give me a hard worker with solid fundamentals.

Kevin Porter Jr is not the brother of Michael Jr (bad back) & Jontay (2 torn ACLs) Porter; different family

2019 Draft Discussion

Post#338 » by JMAC3 » Thu May 16, 2019 5:27 am

Seems like Charlotte Media is really wanting us to take a chance on Bol Bol.

He is a high risk high reward guy but idk if I love the pick for us.

Last time we took a chance on a physical freak but high risk we ended up with Biz.

True, but Bol has shown more skill in 9 games of College Ball than Biz has in his entire career. Also with the new lottery reforms, I think our franchise is at the point where we gotta just swing for the fence of some of these projects, and hope they somehow develop into something great ala the Buck with Giannis. Some transcendent players can be selected at pretty random areas of the draft (Giannis and Kawhi were both picked at 15, John Collins was the 19th pick)

I don't think Randle will opt in, he's got a 9M player option, right? I don't think he'd be a great combo with Zion.

I see few people talking about Nassir Little. There's the (too) obvious Tar Heels connection, but he came out of the combine really positively so far. He could be a high ceiling pick, even if you already have Bacon and Bridges on the wings.
