Kinda sad that we had 4 top 20 draft picks the last 2 years and none made the rookie/sophomore game this year (yes I am counting having the 13th pick)

Well our 13th pick did make it this year. Success?

Mark is crushing him on per36 numbers

Been saying this a lot at GB.

I think you guys made the right pick with Williams. He’s too quick and athletic for his size. He just needs to get PT and get some experience.

I see Williams as Hassan Whiteside but with better basketball (and real life) IQ.

Agree. Williams is very smart and very smooth. Just needs burn.

Honestly, it looks like we have had 1 bad year drafting over the last 5 years to me. I can live with that.

2022 - Mark Williams, Bryce McGowens
2021 - Bouknight, Kai Jones, Thor, Scottie Lewis
2020 - LaMelo Ball, Nick Richards
2019 - PJ Washington, Cody Martin, Jalen McDaniels UDFA Caleb Martin.
2018 - Miles Bridges, Devontae Graham

For as bad as 2021 looks, 2019 is a crazy good draft.

even the best drafters ever will have a few misses. As much as I **** on Kupchak, his drafting is NOT the issue with this team.

If Mark had a path to minutes right away, he'd be in this rookie/soph game.

Yeah Mitch's batting average in the draft is pretty strong. 2021 was rough, but it happens. Even the best GMs are gonna whiff on draft picks

I mean just looking at the 2020 draft - the Warriors took Wiseman at 2, Cleveland took Okoro at 5, Phoenix took Jalen Smith at 10 instead of Tyrese Haliburton, Boston drafted Desmond Bane and then traded him for future seconds

I'm glad we let JB go to bring in a coach that knows how to play and develop young guys like Clifford

I mean I haven't personally felt like Cliff has not developed guys. I think we would see similar playing time handed out if JB was still the coach.

I am not sure Cliff is the long-term answer but I would be fine with him coaching us one more year, especially if Bridges is back. Clifford might actually get him to invest on that end of the floor more.

I closely watched Mark whenever he was in the game yesterday against Orlando live. Came away impressed. He is going to be a good NBA starting Center soon. Nice hands when catching passes, quick for his size and works hard continually to go with being super long and tall. Nice pick by Mitch with that one.

I hope he's ready to start, and I hope Kai is ready to take Jalens minutes.

The only real bright spot from the deadline (and this season, really) has been Mark and that he will now be able to play much more. Excited to see him play extended minutes with Melo! And he'd better be starting over Nick...frankly I hope we get to see more Kai backup 5 minutes. That's what we drafted him to be, not as a 4.

Mark Williams has the highest standing reach in the NBA.

How about...
