Well, we have a star type player. Hopefully he lives up to the hype with real substance.

If we do keep him and he reaches his ceiling I sure hope he doesn't bail as soon as his rookie contract us up for the bright lights of a big market city.

Give him a chance guys, I hated him at first, but over the past few weeks thought he was the best talent in the draft

If he busts, we just pick again at the top next two years in incredible drafts

Welcome to Charlotte LaMelo!

I'm down for the Lamelo era - this should be different and exciting

If they can convince him to be a passer first and scorer second then he'll shine.

If he comes in and goes "I'm the Man"... then it won't be pretty

Welcome to Charlotte LaMelo. Now we get to see how long the LaMelo era lasts!
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

Any chance he sees some G League - and if so, how would that sit with Team Ball?

I'm getting flashes of LaMelo pulling down a defensive rebound and leading the break and then two of either Bridges, PJ, the Things or Monk streaming in from the elbows on the break to pin point alley oop passes to thunder dunks.

That's a pretty exciting thought.

He arguably comes in as already one of the best passers in the NBA.

I'm not a huge Lamelo guy but he's the only player in the draft that's truly elite at an important skill.

Hence..... me saying if he focuses on being a passer before attempting fifteen 20ft floaters and 5 step back 35ft bombs every night then he'll be a special player.

Oh my god this year is a meme. We get LaMelo? Some would argue we got the best player in the draft. Im not so sold. Let's hope he lives up to the hype.

He is clearly a boom or bust pick.

Best case, he is one of the best passers in the league and should be a good defender too with his size.

Worse case, he is MCW with a loudmouth daddy.

I can't see much of a middle ground, a specialist 6th man or something like that.

I just wonder...how does he get by people in the NBA?

He's not explosive, defenders aren't going to respect his shot, and he drives the ball with no physicality.

He has alot of flash but without answering that question, I just don't see it.

Though he was my personal least favorite of the Big 3, we couldn't pass on him at 3. We need a Superstar and 'Melo has the ability.... with a lot of work. His shot mechanics are awful, his defense is garbage and he isn't an Edwards-type of explosive athlete.

However, I think he will pair well beside Graham long-term and now we just have to fix our defense and get a big that can rim protect. PJ can't do it all!!

He needs to get a lot stronger, and I think he can. It will take a few years though, obviously.
