I do think there are some overreactions going on right now, not just you. Bouk looked like a different player in the 2nd quarter, and I think it has to do with confidence. Not sure if that’s a good thing either, but he just has to learn to have that light switched on at all times.
all of Bouknight's good plays came after I posted that comment, fwiw. but you're not wrong in pointing to his confidence. at least when he did have good plays you could see his skills coming through like you would hope. explosive first step, great court vision during his drives, body control in the air, pretty good touch around the rim, and so on.
these are his first impressions in a Hornets uniform, so it's naturally going to make a big impact on how people evaluate him as a prospect, draft pick, whatever. if lack of confidence is getting inside his head in summer league... then he's got a ways to go before he can be a rotation player. lack of confidence shouldn't affect how you get down the floor after a miss or how you execute a routine top-of-the-key pass, for example.
